Hey everyone!
I am starting a new thread - With whats your top5 fave Cat songs Ok, These are mine:
1. Old Schoolyard (Catchy tune - good lyrics + I like the sound of the Polymoog) 2. Kypros (Just love it for some reason) 3. Peace Train (excellent thru and thru) 4. Last Love Song (The lyrics are touching and so is the voice) 5. Miles from Nowhere (Great piano playing from Cat)
Does anyone have Cat Stevens complete 1970-75 music book? Before I get it, whats it like? does anyone have any info on it?
Cheers, Justin ;D

I have the Cat Stevens Complete Deluxe Edition Songs from 1970-1975 book, Justin. It has 62 songs in it. My son plays several instruments and borrowed it from me. It took me a long time to get it back from him! It's a great book.

I have that book Justin, it is fantastic. And the picture on the cover is to die for... It is hard for me to list five favorite Cat songs because I love them all. He rules. But I will attempt to list this weeks list. It varies from mood to mood. "Oh Very Young"....My favorite song on Earth. "Love Lives In The Sky" "I've Got A Thing About Seeing My Grandson Grow Old" Cat's cover of "Blue Monday" "Tuesday's Dead" I did it, but watch out for Vivian's brain fragments. These types of questions tend to make her brain explode. VIVIAN, I JUST PUT A BOX FULL OF FREEZE-DRIED BRAINS INTO THE FED-EX OVERNIGHT. YOU'LL GET 'EM TOMORROW. Love, A'isha

Hi all~ I was wondering if anybody has heard and knows where I might be able to find Cat doing an amazing version of "Both Sides Now". It is my all time fav of his but I have lost my only tape with that on there and have had an impossible time finding where it's from. It took me a while to even find the title, it is a Joni Mitchell song. Any help would be terrific. Thanks.. -&e

Cat never did that song, bizzle. Wow! you sound so positive. I sure hope you are wrong, as I have heard it thousands of times and there was no doubt in my (or the few others that I played it for even) that it was him. It sounded like a live recording and I am sure thats why it isn't on any albums. Is there anyone who has heard it? It's amazing, even more so if it is somebody that sounds like Cat! -&e

Hi Bizzle, Welcome aboard. I am sure that Cat never performed "Both Sides Now" but Neil Diamond did a great cover of it and so did Joan Baez. I think it is a fantastic song no matter who performs it. I think Cat would have done a wonderful job with it though. "How would we all know about this?" you may ask. Well, we are experts on Cat Stevens. George Brown will know about this. He is the most knowledgeable about Cat, then Christine (the moderator of this site) Vivian, and I am in there somewhere. You see, many of us have lived for CAT. We think he totally rules. Love, A'isha

Awww, well, thanks for your help. I guess my search continues, but I am slightly discouraged, apperently there are over 300 recorded versions of that song! (and it's been like 6 years since I have heard it) Sorry to interupt the topic, thanks again for the help, A'isha. -&e

I've never heard of a Both Sides Now cover song being performed by Cat. But that isn't to say there isn't one.. heck at one time we didn't know of a "Working in a Coal Mine" cover song either. So who is to really say what might be still undiscovered by fans. I still would personally LOVE to locate a copy of the live version of Cat sining " If I were a Carpenter' or the French Radio version of Cat singing 'Lady D'Arbanville' sung entirely in French. No one has located either of these songs so far that I know of, but we know they happened.

Hi Paticia, There are some articles here were Cat spoke of his time in Brazil. Arrggghhhh...I can't remember which ones. But they would have to be sometime after 1974, I think if, my memory serves me. It sounds like it was a very introspective time for him. He's also said Brazil was a musician's eutopia, "everyone could dance, everyone could sing in tune"
