hello, this is my first post on the new board~
I was wondering if the photo on the homepage of cat in the hat with his walking stick appeared anywhere else on the site? It is a such a great photo I'd like to see it bigger...also, another fan has one from the same time with cat smiling~any idea when these were taken?
Thanks

Welcome to the site Bluegirl !
The photographs with the feathered hat which you are referring to were taken in Australia during his 1972 concert tour.
And I'm sorry to say, that particular picture is not located any where else on the site at this moment.

Thank you all for the info & the welcome~believe me, I have read & viewed almost everything here at Majicat for some time, it is an amazing site. Ah, the '72 tour, thanks Christine. You know, I think Cat in '72,at age 24 was physically his most attractive...this was around Catch Bull I think...he just seemed to have a rougher, sensual edge around this time...verrry nice. Oh no, please make the July question EASY for example, Where was the photo of Cat in the hat with his walking stick taken?

Oh boy, that picture is the July prize?? Fantastic!!! Christine, you have to make the answer difficult because that is such a great prize. All the prizes are wonderful, but I have my eye on that one!!!!! I am sure whatever the question is, it will take me days to find the answer. I love that!

I promise it won't be to difficult, I want to give everyone who wishes to enter the contest a chance at the photograph.
Bluegirl, I'm happy to hear you like the site. As for your mentioning that you think 1972 was physically Cats most attractive year. I couldn't agree more with you. I think it has to do with the sheer sense of urgency Catch Bull seems to create. Catch Bull appeals to me as Cats' most intimate/revealing LP, so in a way makes that time period his most exciting.

I think it was probably more of a faddish thing. He still uses a walking stick as seen in some of the more recent pictures of Yusuf.
Though, maybe since he was in Australia, he decided he wanted to go on a few hikes in the out back?? wiggle Hmmmm You know, some how I don't think that was the case.

Hi Anya, Welcome to the family.
I read somewhere that Cat broke his leg in Athens and that afterward he had leg pain so he carried a walking stick. It does make him look so distinguished and gives him that 'British Gentleman' touch. He still uses a cane today.
Love, A'isha
