I think it’s safe to say that most people here are in favor of putting together another Midwest Cat Fest, right? Well, Christine and I have been kicking some ideas around for something that would be accessible, affordable, and has enough variety of attractions for everyone, and we’d like your input…<br> How about a Cat Fest in Cleveland?
It’s within reasonable driving distance for people coming from Ohio and adjacent states, and there’s a major airport for anyone who might be flying in. There are loads of hotels and restaurants to fit every budget and taste.
In terms of amusement, here are some ideas:
< touring the Rock and Roll HOF (perhaps a group discount on the admission is available, especially if we go as a Cat Stevens entourage)
< hiking and picnicking in the Metro parks
< a trip to the Hard Rock Café to look for any possible Cat memorabilia displayed there
< seeing Lake Erie – perhaps a cruise??
< there’s a Titanic exhibit at the science museum
And regardless of what we do, or where we do it, we should come up with a definite date so the wheels on the Peace Train can begin turning and allow enough time to pull this whole thing together.
So what do you think of this idea??

Sounds Great, Jan, although I doubt I will be able to make it up there this year! Well, Physically, that is: Unless someone will swing by South Florida and kidnap me! Of course, if I get one of those PC cameras--or if I can twist Hairy's arm! LOL
Peace,Vivian

WOW CLEVELAND....I am game if I can get there. I don't drive. I have been dying to see Cleveland. I don't know much about the weather there. Is it HOT? I think alot would depend on the weather wouldn't it. And people need to discuss work schedules and remember school begins again in Mid August in this area. Or we can wait and see it Cat gets inducted into the Hall of Fame...Hm, that might give us too much planning time.... Love, A

Hi Jan, I think that sounds like a super idea! Please count me in -- depending on the dates that are decided upon! Sounds like such a great time with lots of neat things to do. Just getting together again will be the nicest thing of all. Keep me posted, please!!! Sue

Hey Vivian, remember that offer? It still stands. You and the guys will just have to ride up here together and come to the fest. I can always clean up my large basement... Actually it is a finished basement and a playroom for Jamileh...big. Love, A'isha

Jan, thanks for getting the ball rolling so to speak. Everything you mentioned, sounds very good to me. And if we can get everyone in the same hotel, in a block of rooms to keep everyone together it would be a lot of fun.
I suggest we don't have it Laborday weekend though, since that is the big weekend in Cleveland with all their long holiday weekend activities.
Anyway, I placed a small poll up to get some feel of which month we should have a Cat fest.
