I had to say a few things myself over there. I tried to be nice and polite  . It saddens me when people don't bother to get the facts straight before making public statements, particularly when those statements are filled with hatred and animosity towards others. After all that has been said, people are stilling linking mainstream Islam - and Yusuf Islam for crying out loud - with the tradegy of September 11. At least that's my take on that person's annoyance over the airing of Cat Stevens BTM over Memorial Day weekend. It truly saddens me. Peace, Kim |

I just got back from my 'mission'. Susan, after you read my post you can probably call yourself a sweetheart....
I have PMS...tell me friends, after you read my post...WAS I too harsh? I can be awful when I have PMS especially when someone starts ditchin' the Yusuf-meister.

i just saw the vh1 thing a few nights ago and i think cat was really sute when he was young. i didn't know about the vh1 board until today but why would you post anything mean on it?

First of all, Kimblejen, Let me welcome you to the site! People have been posting mean things about Yusuf ever since I joined these boards over two years ago! Some people just can't understand Yusuf's chosen faith and attack him at evert opportunity! I just hope it stops, because they just don't know what a kind and caring man Yusuf really is! Welcome Kimblejen,
Honest we're not really mean. Most of us who posted at the VH1 site post here as well. Perhaps looking back our posts may appear a bit harsh, but emotions run high when someone publicly misrepresents and attacks your faith (for those of us who are Muslim) and tries to paint the work of a very kind and caring man such as Brother Yusuf in a bad light.
So, please visit us here and share with us your appreciation for Cat's music and perhaps we can persuade you to sample some of Brother Yusuf's music if you haven't already heard it. Muslim or not, I think you would find it quite beautiful.
