And it's wonderful to have you back, Bud! Hope you've been well, and rest assured that you've been greatly missed here. I know other people will also be quick to welcome you back, but until then, I'm delighted to have "got in first"! Jo x Jo! Thank you so much! Your words are so kind and are greatly treasured. It is a pleasure to be back with my fellow Yusuf loyalists, each and every one of whom I consider to be a true friend. -Bud

My name is Bud Painton. My 'Yusuf alias/nom de plume' is "Sir Lorry Load". ;D I've been absent for quite a stretch. I've missed you, one and all, and Majicat very much. It's great to discover that you (and it) still thrive. It's so nice to be back! -Bud

Hello Folks, My sincere thanks to all of you who took the the time to wish me a "Happy Birthday". Now a year older, I stand (well, actually, I 'sit') before you, steadfast in the realization that I am in no danger whatsoever of standing accused (yes, in this case, it is 'standing') of being a year wiser. ;D Here are two terrific characteristics (among countless positive attributes) about Majicat: When one returns (no matter the duration of absence), it truly feels as if one has never been away. -and- The arms of Majicatters are always and forever locked in the "extended/welcoming position". If ever a site and its members so beautifully and accurately reflected the essence of the person who is the inspiration for and of its very creation and existence, that site is Majicat. I love you all and I thank you most gratefully. -Bud

Hope your birthday was filled with friends, family, and fun! ;D Lub you Buddly Boo Boo! And the feeling is certainly mutual, my old friend ("old" as in duration of friendship, certainly not referring to your tender age, here!). ;D My great thanks are launched -- northeasterly from Jersey -- to your southwesterly doorstep. (Here's hoping that "Sir Isaac the 'Cane" treated your area of LA. most gently, Cheener!) -Bud

Hape Birthday, Bud! I wish you a happy and healthy year-and hope that you find that you find time and space to practice your wonderful eloquence somewhere! Take care. Doris Doris, you are extremely kind! I have been absent far too long from this magnificent forum as a result of a long family illness and subsequent passing (as well as its difficult aftermath), but I can assure you that you and all of our fellow Majicatters were never far from my thoughts. Thank you very much for your lovely sentiments. -Bud

Dear Bud, Many Happy returns of the day. I haven't been too active in this forums but I just had to come out of my "cat nap" to wish you the best of the day. I hope you will enjoy this day with family and friends. Peace, Catchem PS. Sorry if I am a tad bit too late, I dont understand the time difference b/w the states and the uk. So much for my university education. Thank you, Catch! Taking a pause ('paws') from your "cat nap" in order to wish me a Happy Birthday has certainly served to brighten my day. ;D Your university education was top-notch... and so are you! -Bud

Hey, Bud! I don't DO B-days because I have decided that they are inherently unfair BUT just for you . . . Have a wonderful birthday! How kind of you, Hy (and how thoughtful of you to make an exception in my particular case)! ;D Unfair or not, birthdays do have this persistant habit of rollin' around on each and every one year anniversary of the previous one. Many thanks, my friend! Bud

18, Odeon? You've just turned _18_? Wholly molly, I have neckties that are older than that! Also, socks... ... not to mention, winter gloves... ... oh, and suspenders... ... and then there's that pair of... ummm... On second thought, some things are better left to the imagination. Seriously, it is always a very pleasant development for us (clearing throat) 'older' Yusuf admirers when we see that younger folks such as yourself have become fans of the gentleman and his music. Proudly saluting you, then, on the occasion of your 18th birthday, Odeon! And wishing you a wonderful year to come (the world is your oyster, young man!). ;D -Bud

Whoa! Looks like Monika's pretty cat's curiosity about Martina's tempting birhday cake got the best of him (her?)! ;D "Happy Birthday", Martina! You have graced Majicat with so many terrific photos of Yusuf and his concerts... As always, we thank you for that. Enjoy your special day, and may the year that follows bring you great health and happiness (and additional Yusuf appearances, at which you can continue to put your expert photographer's eye and perspective to work!). -Bud

"Happy Birthday" (unfortunately, a bit belatedly -- but quite sincerely wished nevertheless), MP! I have always liked and admired your Majicat 'handle' of "montypython", as it never fails to conjure all of the wonderful sights and sounds of the incredibly polished 'high wire of hijinks' that was, and forever shall remain, our favorite "Flying Circus"! Cheers! -Bud

And is also goes without saying (but I guess I'm going to say it, anyway) that Yusuf fans and admirers in countries from Germany to Indonesia and from Dubai to New Zealand, just to name a few, would eagerly welcome a "Moonshadow" leg of the musical tour. "Here, there, and everywhere!" -- Yusuf remains an international star of the first rank! -Bud always the gentle man who wants we all can enjoy around the world hope Yusuf sees your wish Bud but i think it's very importend Australia is perfect and sucsesfull before we all had the chance to enjoy Have I mentioned Belgium? ;D Thank you for your kind words, Regii... and your point about Yusuf premiering "Moonshadow" in Australia is an excellent one! -Bud

Thanks, Mike. This all sounds so great: What an exciting itinerary!... What a grand adventure! You know what? You deserve it. Yes, wouldn't it be fantastic if "Moonshadow" made it to U.S. shores?... and to Canada's, for our friends to the north... oh, and to South America's, for our friends there... and, of course(!) to Yusuf's native U.K., a destination point that really goes without saying. ... On second thought, let's just hope that "'Shadow" arrives here, there, and everywhere (which is where Yusuf fans can be found -- everywhere). Looking so forward to your dispatches from the (Yusuf) front. ;D Cheers, Qiz! -Bud And is also goes without saying (but I guess I'm going to say it, anyway) that Yusuf fans and admirers in countries from Germany to Indonesia and from Dubai to New Zealand, just to name a few, would eagerly welcome a "Moonshadow" leg of the musical tour. "Here, there, and everywhere!" -- Yusuf remains an international star of the first rank! -Bud My bad! Dubai is actually an emirate, not a country, and is a member of the "United Arab Emirates". Oh, and I'm adding France, Spain, and Italy to Yusuf's "Moonshadow" itinerary. ;D Any other suggested countries/venues? -Bud

I was there...it was incredible!! the show started with a majic act in which 3 large boxes were moved across the stage and placed one on top of each other. ..at the precise moment the third box was placed on top, cat stevens kicks the doors open and suudenly appears guitar in hand and starts to sing, What a terrific remembrance, hare. "Welcome" to our happy band of M'catters! ;D -Bud

This is not really a Catspotting experience but.... Last night I had the irresistible envy to watch the Majikat DVD, something I hadn't done in months. So I did watch it and enjoyed it more than I usually do (I'm not a big fan of that concert). When it was over and I was going to bed I peaked at the calendar and realise that we were March the 10th. Which is the anniversary date of the Majikat concert at the Montreal Forum 36 years ago. Guess I subconciously watch the show knowing.... or maybe not. Strange! But also very cool, Charles! It was meant to be... -Bud
