Hyacnth..have a look at the tidal patterns...you may be able to take a raft for some of the way!!......oh and I think a sheep bladder would be useful..and maybe a compass...and don't go without the arm bands!!....guess you could get a premier seat for the effort....shower cap a must! want to arrive with nice hair!! ;D Ahh - a sheep bladder - hadn't thought of that - thanks for the suggestion! Might this be a sign of my advancing years?: Every time anyone even breathes the word "bladder", I... ummm... well... ... Gotta go! ;D

Guess I've got too much time on my hands but upon searching info on the elusive "ABC in Concert", I came across Dick Clark's media licensing website, which is searchable. Many shows of the "In Concert" series are there and seem to be available for licensing. My search did not produce any results for Cat Stevens unfortunately. In any case, there certainly are copies of that show around that could be use for a commercial release. They would have to go through licensing from Dick Clark Production. Would be the perfect year to do this, it will be 40 years in November. Reference: dickclark.com/category/shows/dick-clark-classics/Actually, Charles, I think that you are doing all Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam fans a huge favor by delving into this! This is one concert/television presentation that consistently tops the 'Want' lists of fans everywhere and you are quite correct in noting that the 40th anniversary of its creation and origination would be the perfect time for it to be (finally!) made available to us once again. Thank you for pursuing this! -Bud

All EARS Tiffany..Portie road has a special place in my heart, for :)many reasons, and i look forward to hearing it with Zith and Tiff!! Oops! My sincere apology is offered, bloss -- having just noted that you beat me to the punch with the "all ears" line! ;D Hopefully, when the times comes, my ears shall function more efficiently than my eyes. -Bud

Well, I've been looking forward to starting my cover renditions, but I'm experiencing problems with my computer at my flat, so I've had to put it on hold. However, I'm buying a new computer, which should be much quicker and faster, and this one will follow Windows 07, so keep listening up!! Every Cat Stevens song will be on air. We are 'all ears', Tiff, and we can't wait! (But this is something that is well-worth waiting for!) -Bud

Charles is so right: It's always a welcome sight whenever we see our greatly-treasured and sorely-missed buddies return to Majicat. Please stay, Milan & Vicki as, of course, we count upon Richina to forever be a beloved fixture. -Bud You're all welcome. Geez, so that's what it takes to see our old friends pop up on this board. Glad to see you all here. I'm always surprised to see old Cat footage surfaced, and of high quality. But come to think of it, I'm sure there is still some that haven't seen the light of day yet. Would love to see the couple of songs he did for the CBC's "Hart and Lorne Terrific Hour" in 71 for example. It's collecting dust in the CBC vaults in Toronto.

Boy, Gabi, talk about a ray of sunshine! As always, it will be fascinating following Yusuf's progress on this -- Thank goodness for 'The Age of the Internet' (remembering the 'old days' -- no, not, in this instance, of "the old school yard" -- but of the time when we eagerly foraged for any scrap of information we could get our hands on as his new music was being recorded!). Thank you for this update, Gabi. -Bud Yusuf confirmed on facebook last Friday that the new album is in the making :-)

I loved Richie Havens, and this reminded me that Yusuf had always held him in high esteem. Another sweet voice added to "The Heavenly Choir". Thank you so much for posting this, Affy. -Bud I cant stop listening to his "Peace Train" cover - Honestly something about it is just amazing - True artist he was. Richie's take on "Peace Train" is outstanding, Affy -- I can well appreciate your appreciation of it. And the pure intensity of his guitar-strumming reflected what was taking place in the man's heart and soul. So greatly missed, already. -Bud

I note that all of my fellow Majicatters, in their typically kind, generous, and classy manner, have resisted any temptation to correct my inexcusable error about Yusuf's birthday month -- and for this, I am most grateful! _July_, it is! ;D (Unlike Yusuf, you see, my sharpness of memory is not aging gracefully) -Bud Congratulations to the proud parents, grandparents, and siblings! Quite a nice, early blessing and gift for Yusuf's June birthday. Thank you for sharing this happy news with us, Gabi. -Bud Not posted here yet? Yusuf got a fourth grandchild on April 4th! Majid and Hasannah got a third girl named Yasmina Zahra. Congrats :-)

Extending you a warm "welcome" to Majict, joand! Your "Later with Jools Holland" reminder and tip is quite appreciated, as are your thoughts on compiling a DVD of Yusuf's appearances on the Holland program... sounds good to me. Enjoy your visits here... it's quite the place-to-be for "all things Yusuf". ;D -Bud hi all, I'm new on this forum and I registered because I'm totally amazed by these 3 videos. I only discovered them a few weeks ago... but they're not available anymore on the bbc streaming website. I'd love to have them on high quality, not poor quality we have on youtube or dailymotion. some people on this thread speaked about making a dvd. so I wondered if it was available somewhere? thanks

:)You are back BUD!! Wonderful... Chivalry is alive! The suit is empty no more!! Wonderful! Thank you, blossom -- I only hope that I prove to be even a wee bit worthy of your generous measure of faith in me. (And shall I come up short -- a very distinct possibility -- at least I can take comfort in that suit of thick armour -- as it will come in mighty handy!). ;D Thanks for the big smile! -Bud

oops.....won't happen again! Don't worry Richina. It was "jokingly" said. I'm sure Bud will think nothing of it. Indeed, I don't! It's a pleasure to be able to follow the great give-and-take. And, yes, Charles, I agree with Richina in feeling no doubt that you should have been the victor (as your musicianship is unsurpassed). -Bud

Hey Buddly-boo-boo! Where in the world you been? Oops, I forgot...ole Mother Nature has been givin' you guys quite a difficult time lately. Glad you're safe, sound, and back "cattin'"! :-) Everything's pretty quiet at the moment, but Yusie says he's gonna give us some new tunes soon...so until then, I guess you can just hang out with us! :-) Well, Pip pip and cheerio old bean, I look forward to hearing more from you! PS Hey Glaucus....did you ever get your prize for best cover song? "Old Bean", here... ;D Richina, in any possible reply, I can never hope to do justice to your uniquely magnificent style, so I won't even make a (feeble) attempt! Suffice it to say, though, that your sharing the fact that Yusuf has promised us some new tunes is the very first that I have heard this exciting news -- Thank you, and thank you, Yusuf! Yes, my plan is to stroll these hallowed halls of Majicat once again (hoping against hope that this is seen not as a 'threat', but as a 'promise'). A heartfelt pip pip, cheerio, and thank you, my friend. -Bud
