I wish this eBay seller was actually offering bogus tickets to the 'Yusuf Islam Live at Guantanamo Bay" concert. I would bid this were so.
This seller is just pointing out how ludicrous the entry refusal really is in a tongue-in-cheek manner.
I guess the joke is clearer if you are old like me and understand that although Johnny Cash did perform live at Folsom Prison, he was never an inmate there or at any other prison. He did spend some nights in jail for disorderly conduct, I believe. He just chose to project the image of being an ex-con.
Has everyone here checked to see if their rabies vaccination is current?
peace, kareema

A spelling mistake? I don't think so. You Say Yusuf, I Say Youssouf... The Cat Stevens incident has its origins in a spelling mistake
By SALLY B. DONNELLY TIME Magazine Saturday, Sep. 25, 2004 www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,702062,00.html The Yusuf Islam incident earlier this week, in which the former Cat Stevens was denied entry into the U.S. when federal officials determined he was on the government's "no-fly" antiterror list, started with a simple spelling error. According to aviation sources with access to the list, there is no Yusuf Islam on the no-fly registry, though there is a "Youssouf Islam." The incorrect name was added to the register this summer, but because Islam's name is spelled "Yusuf" on his British passport, he was allowed to board a plane in London bound for the U.S. The Transportation Safety Administration alleges that Islam has links to terrorist groups, which he has denied; British foreign minister Jack Straw said the TSA action "should never have been taken." The incident points up some of the real problems facing security personnel as they try to enforce the "no-fly" list. One issue is spelling; many foreign names have several different transliterations into English. And the sheer size of the list is daunting; thousands of names have been added in the last couple months, says one government official, bringing the total up to more than 19,000 names to look out for. That makes it difficult for airlines and government agencies to check all passengers. Within the past six months, several people on the no fly list have been mistakenly allowed to fly. Still, the TSA is learning. It recently acknowledged that a Federal Air Marshall, unable to fly for weeks when his name was mistakenly put on the "no-fly" list, was in fact not a threat, and removed his name from the list. ******************************************** Meta News: HOMELAND SECURITY AGENCY TAKES OVER AIRLINES NO-FLY LISTS, AS A RESULT OF THE YUSUF ISLAM INCIDENT, SECURTIY GETS TIGHTER STILL And Kurt Nimmo reported it first.

The idea that no one will go without is an absolutely deplorable idea to anyone with intellect sufficient to understand conceptually the workings of nature, life, and the drive for survival. Only those who can "go with" on their own, without the assistance of others, should "go with". That the superior should sacrifice that which is theirs, which they have worked for and acquired through their own, voluntary-exchange based pursuit of their own wealth, to the inferior simply for the survival of the inferior (or so the inferior don't have to "go without" is to deny life to the superior and the inferior. It also represents a complete lack of efficiency in the allocation of resources, as the least productive, those unable to survive on their own, are provided a means of survival which they did not earn. This survival perpetuates their existence and the existence of their inferior genetic makeup in the overall gene pool, resulting in future generations of the inferior which are more inferior than the present. This is the ultimate lack of compassion, or, stated another way, the absolute embodiment of evil. However, the prevention of this evil is not the justification for ensuring that the superior are adequately rewarded for their superiority. The superior will be adequately, and naturally, rewarded for their superiority by simply being left to their own devices, free from restriction of any kind in the use of their property, their intellect, and their wealth, regardless of the consequences to the "collective". I had NO trouble whatsoever comprehending what this writer said. However, after personally working in the field of mental health for over 20 years, and coming from a family of educators going back at least FIVE generations (on BOTH sides), it's my personal belief(and that of MOST of my relatives too) that the "inferior" half of humanity has sufficiently proven itself capable of being and/or producing individuals who MORE than justified themselves worthy of existing alongside "superior" beings and sharing in the "resources" of such. It's difficult for me to envision a world that WOULD NOT have been graced with: 1.Ethel Waters(multi-talented singer/actress). The first African-American superstar, she was the product of an ignorant, dirt poor woman who gave birth to Ethel after being raped 2.Albert Einstein. His parents had feared him to be mentally retarded, since his speech development was markedly delayed in the first few years of his life 3.Bob Marley. He rose from the very depths of what YOU would surely deem as "inferior" humanity, to become a TRULY GREAT poet and songwriter 4.John Lennon. He rose from a paternal family history of alcoholics who(at best) worked only sporadically, living off "the dole" much of the time 5.Leadbelly. He REALLY bucked the odds, coming from a family background which included a history of DIRE poverty, ignorance, alcoholism and even MURDER And the list goes ON AND ON. "Inferior genetic make-up in the overall gene pool, resulting in future generations of the inferior which are more inferior than the present". Dear sir, this theory of yours may have varying degrees of reliability when applied to breeding plant life and animals. HOWEVER, when it comes to that infinitely complex and marvelous creation known as HUMANKIND, I beg to differ! Shirley

This seller is just pointing out how ludicrous the entry refusal really is in a tongue-in-cheek manner. I guess the joke is clearer if you are old like me It is obvious that this auction was a bogus joke. But some simple people can't tell. Furiae should have received permission from Yusuf and SK before posting such a thing on Ebay, IMHO. I don't see any permission given to him. I can't imagine Yusuf being happy being used in this way. I know that he has a sense of humor, but I should think with what's happening in the world, that he wouldn't want to antagonize the situation. Has everyone here checked to see if their rabies vaccination is current? peace, kareema Good idea. There are a number of rabid animals on the prowl.
