I don't know if a thread like this has been done before, but-
Any lyrics you made a mess of before you really knew what Cat was saying.
My big mess up was in Lady D'arbanville.
I thought he kept singing " My lady garbanza" & that made no sense to me but that is what I sang *snicker*

The Beloved... The word "beloved"... I had to check the words to the song a few times... yup, i had to do that too. I used to think it was "he was born to be loved, beloved" i also made this mistake "his wisdom flowed from heaven's book, just like threaded verse" and "he opened up the doors of love to every heart touched with verse" there are tons more, but i can't think of them right now.

"The moment you fell inside my dreams I realized all I had not seen, "
until i was able to read the lyrics, i thought he was singing "I realized 'dolla' ?? - (something)"
i thought that "Dolla" was maybe some nickname for his wife :-) ..........

This really made me laugh. Like Cat, I was born & raised in London & your post made me realize that if I was singing that bit, phonetically it would sound as if I was singing:- I realized dolla adden seen. Aren’t accents great? Linda

I keep hearing and singing threaded purse instead of pearls Cristalina, Meant to tell you... Friday I was driving on business, and of course I listened to AOC along the way. I paid extra special attention to the line you mentioned and sure enough when he said "threaded purrrse" I nearly lost it, ROFL! Thanks for bringing this bit of humor into my life!

You're welcome Lucy Lets hope it doesn't stick with you forever though. I use to love singing along to Follow Me by Uncle Kracker, then one day my son said why does he say "piss in the sea" of course its "fish in the sea" but do you think I ever get it right now, lol ;D

in "maybe you're right" i thought he was singing "i aint gonna hug you nomore"...i was so sure that when i saw the text in the cd book i couldnt believe my eyes:)) no more hug sounds more romantic and heartbreaking than no more argue...you know - a symbol of gone love...

I nearly started a new thread for this, so I'm glad I looked first!
My best friend [and fellow Cat-fan] Jeremy and I were driving around town the other day, and Peace Train came up on a mix cd.
When the vocal started, Jeremy sang loudly: Now I've been happy naked... Now I've been smiling naked... and so on.
Well, I just lost it; he totally cracked me up. [good thing he was driving!] I'd never heard it that way before -- but I'll never hear it any other way again! So thanks, Jeremy. Thanks a lot. LOL
btw... I still hear "golden ogre hair" on Angelsea. Every time. LOL
joni...

my brother and sister would always sing Like king and queen - ...god save our queen! For Remember the Days of the Old Schoolyard it wasn't until i got it on my ipod that i realized it was 'dreams' not 'queen' Which i thought was much more in cat stevens fashion.

Greta thread dal , it could run and run and be lots of fun. I thought in" I never wanted to be a star" he sang , stoned ,drunk and cold, but of course "stone drunk "is a very quintisential 60's British expression
