Check out the official release of the Harold and Maude soundtrack, which is a limited edition on new VINYL. There is a small update about it on Majicat's homepage. For myself, I still love vinyl and like the fact that H & M is being produced on new vinyl.

I am definitely going to pre order it as soon as it's available. Then I will have to get Hairy to dig our turntable out of storage where it's been for four years. I have NO IDEA if it even works anymore!

I love what Yusuf has to say:
"What was interesting was, I’d done that project, I’d kind of put it behind me. But then, over the years it’s just taken on so much importance. It’s a milestone, and a part of people’s memories, which they love… and I love it too. Other things disappear or assume smaller proportions. Harold and Maude just gets better and means more and more. It’s the rarest thing. A film that gets better with age.”

Thanks LadyD...ordered mine too. I might not be able to play it, but it matters not to me 'cause getting the extras was worth the money.

Has anyone who ordered this album received it yet? I'm wondering when it will be mailed out to those who ordered early.

Mine arrived today. I went for the classic 180 gram black. The packaging is gorgeous! I shan't reveal any details so that everyone else who has bought it can enjoy the experience of opening it and seeing all the wonderful details "fresh". But I will say "kudos" to a certain young man for his worthy artistic contributions. (You know who you are...LOL) The bonus tracks are playing as I type. Those alone are worth the cost of the album. And I'm so very pleased that it's an album, i.e., vinyl. Of course, now I need to somehow get that bonus material into MP3 format so I can pop it into both my iPod & iPhone. -Joanne

Came home last night to find mine waiting for me. Absolutely worth every penny and more. Everyone who ordered will be very pleased.
There is one thing I will say.....Cat is NOT in that scene we've been wondering about and by his comment, Yusuf confirms it. Oh well, it was fun trying to figure out if it was.

Got my copy today . Its fab . so interesting the book that comes with it , and as for the scetch of Cat /Yusuf , it's stunning , as soon as I can I shall have it framed for my bedroom . So I can see that beautiful face when morning has broken . I , know this man is beautiful inside and out. This was brought home to me when I met him.. and I am not ashamed to say in his youth ,his classic looks took my breath away. Michele

I just received my LP (yep, Long Play vinyl, as Sun mentions above) isn't it nice to actually say LP? I waited until after the holidays to send for it. What was nice is they sent an additional 45 of an artist, whom I've never heard of before (but enjoyed listening to), besides the Don't be shy/If you want to sing out 45 single. What a nice package deal, I loved listening to the LP/ 45's and reading the booklet. The posters are wonderful. Don't you love listening the alternative and demo versions of Don't be shy and If you want to sing out. Love Them!! Sun the poster is a pencil/pen drawing of Cat looking up, as in this Tadanori Yakoo poster below.... (just Cat, no stencil, astonomy or sky) PS... my 35 year old turntable died a few years ago, so for christmas I bought myself a crosley suitcase record player. the nostalgia of playing this wonderful album on an old vintage (replica) type record player is great.

I love the look of the LP. I just need to get a player to play it on. Pretty sure that the one we have in storage doesn't work anymore, sooooooo, we may splurge and get a new one.

Play it? Oh, my....I don't think so. To me, it's a collector's item and I think I just may frame it along with the wonderful posters and put it on the wall above my piano.

Thank you for this wonderful post, Christine! The mental image of a vintage type record player actually playing these songs - and all this nostalgia - is just wonderful! And thank you for the new link extras which are included with this exclusive Harold and Maude Limited Edition Vinyl Package. It's so nice to see what's in the package, and the track listings are great! And Michele (mjtrewhella) is right, the sketch of Cat is beautiful! Thanks again. ~Sun~

WEll, I'd want to play it just ONCE, to copy it to CD-provided I can get a player capable of doing that. After that, I'll frame it along with all my other CAT LPS.

Vivan - all you need is a USB turntable which (supposedly) takes your vinyl records (33's, 45's, 78's), plugs into your computer, and converts them to mp3 files on your computer. Costs about $150.00 (although I haven't really shopped around and it may be cheaper than that). When I think of all the vinyl records I have, it might be worth the price.

Yes, I've seen one advertised. Only problem with that, is that my computer does not have a CD burner. So after I download them into my computer, they'd be stuck there. And my computer only has so much memory. Peace,Vivian
