I always had a feeliing that the person who let the cat out of the bag, was a close associate of CS/YI. Sue, you have now confirmed this. Does this mean another lawsuit is on the way or would it be too difficult to trace the source? Not that anyone is complaining here. ;D Sue welcome home.

I have received my copy of 9 Lives yesterday and have not stopped listening to it. I love it. It makes me feel like 17 again and sitting watching Cat live in concert. Wow, so who ever has recorded this legally or illegally. THANKS. Because us fans who have spent money over the years going to concerts or buying all Cat/Yusuf's records, etc. deserve to listen to these great sounds. So Thanks again.

Man, I am late getting on board with this thread. This cd is still listed on ebay with just simply an astronomical buy it now price. I would LOVE to hear this cd, as well as the complete Saturnight cd that was also listed some time back. I think its a great idea what another posted said earlier about making a donation to Small Kindness - if one of my fellow wonderful Cat Stevens fans would be willing to send me a copy of either the demos cd and/or the complete saturnight concert, I would either make a donation to Small kindness on my own and send them the receipt from it or I can paypal the $$$ to the person directly and they can make the donation on my behalf. I hate to sound like a leech but hey..........it isnt like new Cat music becomes available all that often

Okay - soooooo - I listened to the whole CD - there is a page on the internet where all of the songs have been downloaded. I am in LOVE with the song "Can This Be Love" ....... raw, emotional, beautiful. That VOICE !!! I must have listened to it 50 time already (hubby is getting tired of hearing it) BUT - I feel some remorse I guess - morally maybe ?? My son works for Capitol Records in NYC - he said this is what is destroying the "music business" .... and more and more we will see this kind of downloading, and perhaps bootlegging on the internet, and record companies, as they exist now - will be no longer. They are fading now. Anything to do with The Beatles is kept in a locked safe at Capitol, and only certain members of the upper staff have entrance. My son is one of them - and has said he is overwhelmed whenever he enters into there. So my dilemma ?? Do I go ahead and attempt to download this ?? And then offer a contribution to Yusuf's charity ? Or do I just leave it be - hoping that maybe someday it will be released in it's raw natural state - in a future CD. This song I mention SHOULD be released - it is captivating. Oh my - help, please ??

Nancy, I feel the whole world is a ticking time bomb. A world crisis out of contol. So don't feel bad about listening to the CD. Do you really think you can leave this CD alone after falling in love with it. I know I can't. We have been waiting for many years for a song like this.
It is a shame about the record companies, but who can stop what's happening, we alone the guilty party? Who can resist the temptation? Maybe YI should be consider putting all his unreleased gems on Special Edition CD's, and I'm sure the sales will bring in alot more for his charities and make everyone happy.
As I don't see this happening, go ahead, download the CD, make a contribution, because the Peace Train is nowhere in sight and the world is looking very dim and I'm sure YI has a very big heart and will forgive us. Of course he has every right to keep them to himself, but what good is it they a locked in a vault and something happens and no one will ever have had the pleasure of listening. Who will really appreciate these old CS gems. How many of us true old CS fans will be living or have our wits to to be able to listen, if the are not released. I doubt the newer generation will ever be able to appreciate and feel the same as we do, listening to these very rare recordings.
I hope I have helped you feel less guilty nancy without upsetting anyone. I don't think we are being selfish, and that we don't love appreciate, and respect the great work YI has accomplished over the years, but now that we got a taste of what's out there, we just want a little bit more, and we are willing to pay.

Nancy – I think Vicki (downunder72) put it beautifully. I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer, but I do agree with Vicki that the world is changing and we cannot stop it. To a large degree, I don’t think we would want to. Who of us, back in the 70s listening to Cat’s albums, ever imagined that we would be communicating with complete strangers all over the world over this world-wide web about these delightful songs? That notion was just as foreign as getting cash from a machine! I love most of what technology and innovation have given to us. Most industries have had to change to keep up with the changing times (or go out of business), and the record companies are no different. If you choose to download 9 Lives and make a donation to Small Kindness, then you are still doing something good and honorable. In the end, it is not a matter of right or wrong, but what is right or wrong for you. Remember that one of the reasons Yusuf came back to his music is that he knows how much good his music can do, and that his fans needed his music again. I think Vicki is right, Yusuf would forgive us. Download and enjoy, and send a donation to what matters so much to Yusuf. It will all be ok.

Thank you both very much .... you have helped me not to feel so "guilty" ..... I don't know why I feel that way ...... Because really - I don't understand why Yusuf doesn't release this song - it is a charm, a winner - one that would make many more come to love him, his music, and his message. But that is, as you say, not a probability. I feel belssed to know all of you - thanks !!! Peace ..................... Nancy

I'm sure if anything from this cd was released, whether we have downloaded it already or not, we'd still be the first people to place our orders anyway
