Am looking forward with interst to Yusufs speech in Canada on Christmas day.. @sabina: I heard at some point that Yusuf would be sharing the stage with his good friend Sheikh Hamza Yusuf, but I haven't seen a schedule yet. Have you? Hamza Yusuf is one of the most inspiring and gifted public speakers I've ever seen. I don't agree with everything his says, but he is so learned, poised, and quick-witted, both passionate and level-headed, that he always opens my mind and causes me to reconsider the issues when I don't agree. |

The vid was interesting Hyacinth.........release not tactical in any way? . Am looking forward with interst to Yusufs speech in Canada on Christmas day.. Aurarisma said ''glad he did get away like he said he did when they were giving him false information ... etc... '' are there any substantive evidencesapart from the outwardly perceived...lack of culturally unsuitable garb,shorter beard,European Tour .... for this? would be interested to read/see/hear...anyone? thanks |

Sorry to be bringing it back to this again- but this is from 1993 and the remarks on Rushdie and capital punishment are still scary to me...  .. and with alot of conservatives surrounding him pushing him to become the poster boy ... as he puts it . .. not need to judge and look down on people... live and let live is a feeling I get from Yusuf .. "if you wanna life high live high .. if you wanna live low live low" like his songs goes!!
I had a vision in 1990 and ended up living in a monastery for awhile .. I know that zealous live by the book way... yet I see something in this video I knew he would shed.. not the meaning of the Qur'an of course but something that wasn't him that alot of us acquire when we are zealous .. which is a dangerous place to be I was told at the time of being in it myself. (figuratively speaking) this is a tough subject to talk about because unless one understands the depth they can be ridiculed and not understood .... so I shall leave it at that .
We all evolve ... and its wonderful to be able to read the Qur'an and the Bible and take it inthe fullness of the Spirit it was conceived .. I like how Yusuf say his message is Peace .. and that shows now .. he wears the cloak of peace soooo welll and Unconditional Love .. .. xoxoxoxxo Alhmdeulilah!
Islam is not much different than Eastern Orthodoxy ..perhaps the reason why I feel so comfortable reading both ...
I believe he is really going to touch alot of hearts in December and hope he continues to keep his so brilliantly open xxx to love and peace xoxox ...

but... one doesnt need an interview to see what he shed and and all the time what was lying beneath it besides the white garb (respectfully)
well maybe some do.. but I see what was surrounding him and he did too...
he is not isolating ..faith is not isolating ... faith is love and peace .. and unconditional love for those that are still searching .. give a smile ... the truth is a smile
He is peace and unconditonal love and his aura and vibrations now flow of that ... there is day and eclipse difference.. to me .. from the 90's and now .. must be because he is free flowing love and peace now ... he is touching 100's of thousands and more all over the world with the charisms God gave him .. God brought him back ..God gave him his musical gift and gave him his music back and he was waiting for God to give it back to him as he said and He did !! xo

Regarding RIS Toronto 2011: Anyone care to make a small side bet on what the new plain and simple "Yusuf Islam" will wear to the podium? I am so delighted that he dropped the (absurdly redundant) titular honor ("Dr. Yusuf Islam") both from the new book and the RIS program. He is, in fact, the ONLYspeaker on the RIS program WITHOUT a title! That is a distinction worthy of recognition!

On the other hand, if he wanted to express hope for greater inclusion of the peoples and faiths of the Far East within the Adamic fold, he could don his east asian suit. With that, I would definitely consider a binky scarf from East of the Himalayas ... Urumqi perhaps ... Attachments:

.I have never regarded Yusuf as a contrived dresser...and now I feel pretty daft...anyone enjoying being photographed so much must think about his threads...?
and maybe therefore the man and his choice of clothing needs a 'thread ' of its own.....geddit! ;D

Being dense in the field of accessories also...I dont see why the scarf is perceived to be modestly-draped....its a nice loop around the neck...

I love what he is wearing from the inside out .. he is quite different in opulence from than the speakers on the trailer .. he possesses a Spirit of sorts... shining beautiful... God bless .. should be nice to hear and see..
