This year will mark the 40th anniversary of the legendary ABC in Concert "Moon & Star" broadcast. Wouldn't it be time that the copyright owners and Yusuf's team come to an agreement to finally release this on DVD /Blu ray??!! For me, it remains Steve's finest live performance ever recorded with a full band. Joshua White did a great job directing this, even got an Emmy nomination for it back in 1974. Let's hope it materializes. I really don't get why they don't release this type of stuff. They could be making money and be keeping us happy, no point of it sitting in some warehouse getting dusty

The clips on YouTube show what a tour de force the ABC concert was. His performance of "The Foreigner Suite", especially, was amazing!
Maybe someday the whole concert will be released. I'm thinking sometime after a US, oh - excuse me, Glaucus, after a NORTH AMERICAN concert maximizes Yusuf's exposure to fans!
AND you're STILL exiled to your room, Affy, although I will relent and allow you ONE serving of Fish and Chips! ;D

Guess I've got too much time on my hands but upon searching info on the elusive "ABC in Concert", I came across Dick Clark's media licensing website, which is searchable. Many shows of the "In Concert" series are there and seem to be available for licensing. My search did not produce any results for Cat Stevens unfortunately. Here's an example of what I found: --------------------------------------------- Title In Concert 40 Act 02 Original Premiere Date 8/2/1974 Description Master Act Video Full Description In this clip, Leo Sayer performs "The Show Must Go On." Rating PG-13 Season Number 1 Episode Number 40 Details Category Other Video Category Music Series / Film Title In Concert, 1974 Series / Film Description In Concert showcased live musical performances by some of the biggest box office draws of the era. The show also contained a significant number of up-and-comers who went to greater success. Each artist performed between three to six songs per show. Performers included Rod Stewart, Loggins & Messina, Deep Purple, America, Seals & Croft, Joe Walsh, Leo Sayer, Staple Singers, Steve Miller, The Kinks and many others. Keywords In Concert On Stage Performing Performance Crowd Cheering Fans From London Tommy Vance Leo Sayer The Show Must Go On Copyright 1974, dick clark productions, inc. Aspect Ratio 4x3 Frame Rate 30 ---------------------------------------------------- In any case, there certainly are copies of that show around that could be use for a commercial release. They would have to go through licensing from Dick Clark Production. Would be the perfect year to do this, it will be 40 years in November. Reference: dickclark.com/category/shows/dick-clark-classics/

This is one concert/television presentation that consistently tops the 'Want' lists of fans everywhere and you are quite correct in noting that the 40th anniversary of its creation and origination would be the perfect time for it to be (finally!) made available to us once again. Thank you for pursuing this! -Bud

Today November 9, 2013 marks the 40th anniversary of the first TV broadcast of the Moon And Star Concert on the ABC television network. The show would be repeated on September 27, 1974. An official release would have been great but, eh..... www.youtube.com/watch?v=AL-9NFtUP9U&list=PL067DFDC33BBE0CE2
