Maybe he was a little tired. He played for almost two hours if you take the encore into consideration. I think that is phenomenal. I was thinking Yusuf's concert was waaay generous the first night. It must be exhausting singing for two hours. I think the guy was just a complainer. Some people complain no matter how much they get.
The arena looks packed to me. I don't see a lot of vacant seats?

Wow, Looking at the photo Aminah took of the venue, I noticed our friend Jane sitting right, on the end, second row from the front. All who know Jane won't miss her. As Martina, and Jane were at the last two concerts, maybe they will be able to tell us what actually happened and compare.

Was the capacity of the Australian venues as big? Some of the German arenas are for 15000 + people. I think 6000 to 8000 a night is a pretty phenomenal crowd. I don't think the RAH holds more than that.

As far as I know, in Germany only Mannheim is sold out... 10.800 seats in SAP Arena...

From Wikipedia: RAH is 5,544 (was sold out), Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne is 14820 (he did two sold out concerts!), Sydney Entertainment Centre is 12000 (he also did two sold out concerts!) etc.

Well, Jane will be in seventh heaven-after narrowly missing out on meeting Yusuf at RAH her and Regine got to meet Yusuf along with Hurt. Can't wait to hear more about that.

I think i have said it somewhere before- the German market is generally resistant to high prices. Or what maybe perceived as overcharging. I knew several people in Germany who were very keen to go, but when they saw the ticket prices they were shocked.

Yes the venues were just as big in Australia, and I agree, nothing to complain about 7,500 audience.
Did you see Jane in Aminahs photo of the audience?

Yes, I just spotted her, after you mentioned it. What a good seat she got!! And tomorrow all over again. The Berlin venue looks reasonably booked up

As Martina, and Jane were at the last two concerts, maybe they will be able to tell us what actually happened and compare. In Hamburg someone from the audience shouted 'louder' at the beginning and Yusuf picked that shouting up and said it gets louder later in the show... But maybe he had some thoughts about that?? So he'd changed the order of the setlist in Oberhausen. I'm not sure if that worked that well. 'Moonshadow' was now in the first set (moved from the encores) and that changed the teaser of the Moonshadow Musical. Because Yusuf usually plays only the first few chords of 'Moonshadow' there and then jokes that he'll maybe play it later. (He repeats that joke with 'Father and son' too which made the audience laugh.) But now, at that point he'd played 'Moonshadow' already...do you get my point? He left it out. In addition, there was the incident with pushing the wrong button and that kinda threw him off a bit? He seemed to be unconfident and looked very often on the screen to read the lyrics... Maybe all things combined disturbed the concert flow...just my thoughts of course.

peritura, I hope you will be as lucky as Regi, Jane, and Hurt, and get to meet Yusuf. We'll see who the lucky ones will be after the Berlin concert.

Every day is different-even for me at school it's like that, some days you have them in the palm of your hand, some days its a struggle. And often you don't know why.

@downunder=I am not even so sure I would want to. Sounds strange; doesn't it? I would like to meet the man sometime but in a more equal situation. I am not one to ask for autographs.

What I like is that Yusuf is changing the setlist and not just playing the same show over and over again...

@martina, I think your observance makes it clear that these factors may have had alot to do with the flow, and outcome of the concert. I guess there will always be some concerts better than others in every tour. Nevertheless, the majority will have been satisfied.

I felt the same way at the SBE concert. Seeing Yusuf that night was beyound my every dream. I was completely satisfied. I felt completely awkward waiting at the back stage door, it was not why I had come, as I too am not one to ask for autographs. It was to see Yusuf perform, and keep the memory in my heart.

A comment from youtube- It was a beautiful evening, to hear and see him! I still have goosebumps and tears in my eyes. Gad hoped to see him all my life.... He played all the must-hears. magnificent. i would have paid 500 Euro for the worst seat. he is the outstanding Pop=Poet!

I saw Aminah taking a picture of the audience, so I thought I take a picture of her when she takes a picture of us! Sorry, I'm up for those jokes! The stage light was out at that moment, so sorry for the little light...
