Well, in short, concert was good, first part not so good (let's say a little bit to short, the beggining lost his magic due to present daylight on stage so he did not come from the dark), and Ol. Halle was near 3/4 full. In the first part he did not play Blackness, neither Pop Star but was playing Thinking About You. But, second part was brilliant even he did not play Maybe You're Right, BUT he played unexpectedly as one man was shouting If You Wanna Sing Out.. so, he started this song alone on his guitar, and after that the others from the band start to play with him, obviously unprepared but very well So, it was the highlight from the concert for me. The rest was as expected, with 3 encores, like in Berlin.

According to Yusuf who made a very brief comment on his official site, the concert in Munich was "excellento". ;D Nice to finally read Yusufs thoughts. I think it must have been the great response he got at the end. FOUR songs for the encores!!! crobarbie you are a hard one to please, but I'm happy that there was an unexpected highlight for you ;D I hope that does not mean if you could, you woud not go to Yusufs next stop Holland? Of course not. ;D I think it was a memorable night for all. Still waiting for Aminahs photos.

Well, I am not that hard to please, but the fact is that he is not playing "Into White" for a long time on his concerts (just cca a half of century No, I am kidding, my real problem is because all these days I was collecting/searching for tour videos across the "Internet Univerzum", so when I was finally live at concert it was some kind of deja vu for me (and I am not Jane

But, he realy has a problem with this first part of concerts, something is missing, you can't compare this "prewiev" of Moonshadow with those on UK Tour, especially in Royal Albert Hall, so this first part of concert is a little bit flat and story is to weak/naive. Ha, that's me, old Barney

crobarbie...everyone has their own opinion on this and I have heard your take on it before...eg KULTUR musik says....that the corny story of Stormy and Lisa is the weakest part of the concert..... BUT I repeat myself when I say... ..that the complex emotions aptly put in such an unadorned story SUPPORTED by the most expressive music ever is to my mind not weak at all.......Hmmm the reviewer was not sitting in and around row 14 then......corny!; to some perhaps but so Yusuf.;..weak! never...... but I guess I'm biased as I was the Lisa once.........or it could be that I therefore have more gravitas in my opinion of this Musical section! ;D to my mind the sheer beauty of it is in its naivety..I LOVED IT!!!!

Old Barney, I was just kidding too. ;D I respect and love reading everyones thoughts on the concerts, the music, articles, and meetings. And yes, I can understand the feeling of deja vu, all your hard effort that goes into searching for videos, articles, and hot off the rack news, not just now, but over the years I have been here, is always very well recieved and greatly appreciated by me, and I think that goes for all here. I believe, our feelings for Yusuf and his music are mutual, so no 'bad' night, if you can call it a 'bad' night, and everyone has had one of those, will ever change our opinion, and love for Yusuf. Thankyou ol' Barney, I do hope you will hear 'Into White' in a future concert soon. A good idea is to start asking (begging) from now. We now know, that it does pay off in the end, but again you're not our sweet darling Regi are you? Maybe you can get Regi to ask (beg) for you. Well it won't hurt trying

Barney Im with you on that one, we thought Berlin was "flat" maybe it was the guy sitting in front of me who wasnt even watching Yusuf who told Regi and I to be quiet that really annoyed and distracted me - but for me RAH was THE concert, Berlin didnt have the same buzz and atmosphere and the Moonshadow story went on for too long - but Im still counting the days for Brussels and cant wait to see him again :-)

I agree with both Barney and the reviewer - the Moonshadow part was the weakest part of the concert. It doesn't mean it was WEAK - it just means that if ranking the three parts of the concert, that part would rank last.
For those of us who have seen other concerts, and especially other Yusuf concerts, we are going to make a comparison. While there was a great energy in the audience in Berlin, he was not the same person I saw perform in Hamburg and Oberhausen, particularly in the first half. I knew something was off the moment he walked out on stage. If you have never been to a concert before, it is understandable that you would feel differently or have a different experience.

:)I know @jane thats why I made that point about not being the best reviewer as I had nothing to compare it to!and as I will not be going to any other concerts then this one will always be the best for me!!so I'm lucky really! x

Munich was sooooo excellento! the lighting from the moment he walked out was amaazzing as was his voice ... I was prepared for a tennis match possssibly with the echoes that could have taken place but only heard an echo with that snare drum that was added to this concert on two songs ... I dont know what vitamins he is taking but Id like to have some plz :)and try that nail bed also !! I noticed his eyes were gifted more to us as they were open more while he was singing and needless to say that was so powerful to see when and where he opened them ... that was the highlight of the concert for me to get that zap along with the dynamics and sweet childlike tenderness and vulnerable pathos of his beautiful voice and movement ... well the real highlight was to have a beautiful conversation with yusuf and his lovely family. He was gifted with these amazing custom leather guitar straps that I designed .. with a dove on one of them with subtle black studs on one side of it ..... awesome Cavalli black vine leather shoulder part to the guitar strap with braiding and subtle studs on tip and his signature of 'peace' engraved on it .... and carved doves on each end ... soooooooo coooool.... He said . Nick ( a majicatter should be so pleased to hear that he loved the 'peace' on it and the dove too!) the 2nd one being a swirl of the brown colors (llike his new guitar) mixed with vintage brown leather and brading with original tie-dyed leather in front .. and his name in large yet subtle embroidery YUSUF .. also with signature of 'peace'... Very Roadsinger! I have photos that I took of straps but cant post them till I return in June. He loved them and may he wear them in excellent health!!!
His vocals on "Thinking about You was sooo tender . one of the beautifu lyrics ever written and he reallly sang soooooo beautifully xo
I just cant tell which concert I liked better Berlin or Munich .. or do I really have to .... they were two totally different energia's Im grateful for both of them and the vibrations .... the audience has alot to do with it all I believe and I have to say I was in shock with Munich .. what started out as a proper clapping applause resulted in ... loud loud unleashed love and applause.... even the journalist sitting next to me .. I said .. Mr. Munich .. I want to see some applause not this .. .. and showed him .. hehheee he said this is how munich does it but by the middle of that concert they were starting to show signs of americana ...lol..... it was great ! a love fest !!! x I believe he is going to write about that as well.. He said to me that Izitso was his favorite album and wished that Yusuf would play some music from that album .. and at hearing this I reached for my gift bag that I was going to be giving Yusuf and pulled out the izitso yoyo and the journalist broke out in a big smile and I took a few photos of him one being the yoyo worn in front of his eye as a monocle of course! very german xo hahah it was fun and spontaneous ... he was a cool cat and I know the review will be lovely... haaha I said cuz I saw him typing on his blackberry the review as he was listening .. I said are you writing goood great things.. u better! he jokingly said NO! I pulled his long blond hair lightly and said you better .. hehehehe he laughed and said he was .... what a beautiful soul he was ... we exchanged emails and I will send him the photos and he will send me the review !! Excellento! but geez when he left he kissed my hand .. what was that all about ... he did do it very wondrously childlike which was cool....we did have fun ..hippy fun... just didnt think hippies kiss hands ! It was all good tho! peace out for now ..... geez german keyboards are wacky! anyone else experiencing them?
what a beautiful day in Munich sunnns shining .. I will write about it shortly in 'how was your day xxoxoxoxooxxo hope you are leaving a bit of love along the way in Munich n taking something /love from this most interesting city.... as in berlin as well and wherever else u have been and are going ..... joy fest ... plant flowers ... in every persons inner garden u see and if you have to tug out some weeds in the processs take the time .. heheeheee xoxoxoox ... xoxoxoxoxxoxoxoxo peace xoxoxoxoxoxxoxoxox christina

I have nothing against goats, and as I said on the BERLIN thread about this matter, I live in a rural area in Greece, seeing herds of goats is quite common, and I love goats cheese. Look and compare. No resemblance what's so ever. ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=NeP_AUAFXgY

I actually love the Moonshadow part and it gives me the aroma time bounce to a beautifully told story that I cant wait to see in fruition .... as a musical.. I just love the way he sings 'Remember The Days of the Old Schoolyard in so many different genres.... not a weak link in the whole concerts that Ive seen.... r.i.d.i.c.u.l.o.u.s ... sorry..... I feeel no weakness or the need to find anything ... I really couldnt if I try .. perhaps its the energy that each audience member comes in with that makes them see the concert the way they do ___ what is a critic...____ and are there a need for them ? xxoxoxxoxo coming from a loving place ... xoxoxo always

'Hardly a face that is not glorified by the concert, no one, not one does not parades of this quiet, happy smile on. Anyone still in the car from Berlin to the Vogtland drives, has a great opportunity for over three hours Cat Stevens up and be heard down: from "Where Do The Children Play" to "Hard Headed Women" to "How Can I Tell You ". Again and again, because you can never get enough of it. '
