Thank you for the posting of your concert photos, Martina, they are all terrific! -Bud Thanks Bud! here is one in higher res I was last night at the RAH to see Eric Clapton and I must say, especially the sound of the vocals, was much better at Yusuf's shows.

I agree with both Barney and the reviewer - the Moonshadow part was the weakest part of the concert. It doesn't mean it was WEAK - it just means that if ranking the three parts of the concert, that part would rank last. For those of us who have seen other concerts, and especially other Yusuf concerts, we are going to make a comparison. While there was a great energy in the audience in Berlin, he was not the same person I saw perform in Hamburg and Oberhausen, particularly in the first half. I knew something was off the moment he walked out on stage. If you have never been to a concert before, it is understandable that you would feel differently or have a different experience. why are we ranking parts of the concert .. just curious... its a energia thang ....its a capsule of a ride of joy.... I actually love the Moonshadow part and it gives me the aroma time bounce to a beautifully told story that I cant wait to see in fruition .... as a musical.. I just love the way he sings 'Remember The Days of the Old Schoolyard in so many different genres.... not a weak link in the whole concerts that Ive seen.... r.i.d.i.c.u.l.o.u.s ... sorry..... I feeel no weakness or the need to find anything ... I really couldnt if I try .. perhaps its the energy that each audience member comes in with that makes them see the concert the way they do ___ what is a critic...____ and are there a need for them ? xxoxoxxoxo coming from a loving place ... xoxoxo always People will always have their own opinions - and they are not always glowing. That is ok. No one said there was a need to find a weakness, but in the opinion of some, there was one. I never said I didn't like the Moonshadow part, but that seems to the way it was taken.

I think the most endearing part of Yusufs personality comes out in Moonshadow ... the childlike wonder and vulnerable child man pathos...I just loved it ... takes alot for a soul to go 'there' xo
to me the experience or outcome of a view of the concert has alot to do with ones openess to truly be taken there and letting it manifest ....
no comparisons here for me.... just magnificent.... all of it .... from the moment he walks out to the end... the beauty of putting out a show concert or musical and such is just a perfect gem ... with all its prisms ..always .... with the so-called flaws or weaknesses or the 'I knew something was wrong the moment he came out' or however critiques .. its part of the treasure house experience .... I cant wait for the concert in Paris...what will the Paris audience be bringing ... the vibration ... but then yusuf has the ability to turn Munichs stuffy nature to love love love .. it was excellento! I just felt that transformation taking place before my very eyes!!!! Bravisssimo Munich ... I'm proud of you!

Back in Serbia - good concert. "On the road to find out" incomplete, "Morning has broken" played with somewhat different chords (loved it!), but you probably already knew this (I wasn't checking Youtube clips from previous gigs). Yusuf very much in the mood, enjoying himself. Great band. Father Andreas taped the complete gig; not the best quality though (typical audience recording, sound is distant), but it's at least something.
Off to bed...................

Oh God, I was on several Bob Dylan's concerts, and not every one was perfect.. it is normal, those people are not Gods but real Artists (and Dylan is greater artist than our Cat Yusuf, but I still love CY more) so I can't understand why some people here can't accept if someone has a different opinion on things?
And, what do you think, why is Yusuf searching for best suitable order of songs if he himself is pleased with every concert? You never know if you don't try, so he mix a little bit every concert and that is great. And yes, without it's (for example RAH) production "Moonshadow" shows it's weak moments ;D

Wow, tnx flottmann I only can compare that moment in Munchen to the similar one in RAH when he also unexpectedly started to play Meddley of I Love my Dog etc. See the expression on Alun's face ;D

Thank you for providing such great links, Monika (which I am able to get the gist of thanks to Anette's excellent German language tutorials)! The photos of Yusuf that are found via your links are great, as well. Thanks, too, for always sharing Yusuf's concert set lists with us so promptly. Much appreciated! -Bud

Martina, two words come to mind when I view this photo: "Album cover"! Yes, it is truly CD or DVD cover-worthy... A most terrific photo, capturing Yusuf's great passion for his art perfectly! -Bud

... I can't understand why some people here can't accept if someone has a different opinion on things? I always look forward to reading your takes on Yusuf's concerts, Barney, and I think that I can safely speak for all Majicatters when I say that they are greatly and universally ("The Majicat Universe"!) valued. You also have a wonderful knack for posting your impressions so quicky -- your's are often the very first that we see. Like so many of your fellow concert goers, you are a 'correspondent par exellence', and your dispatches are a gift to us all. -Bud

Thanks Bud! That's funny, cause I also thought this kind of photo expresses Yusuf's passion to perform so much! Also this one I always look v jealously at Aminah's Leica M9 camera which is about 5500 Euro!!! THAT is a camera, would love to have it and being allowed to bring it in! Mine is just a compact camera...

@martina, I think for a compact camera, you have nothing to be jealous about. Your photos, like Bud says, are professional quality. I think it has more to do with the eye behind the lens.
