Richina, that's such a kind thought, but unfortunately it's a "school night" and I have no available babysitters for my 14 year old! It's only about a two hour drive from us, but I really can't leave her on her own - or take her, due to the time we'd get back - and so unfortunately it's a no-go! (I have MS and it means I can't take the train on my own and I no longer drive.) Grr! But I shall see it "second hand" if people are kind enough to share photos and videos. I'm only sobbing quietly into my coffee as we speak Where are you - and other people - planning to go? Jo x |

Jo x Not that I'm complaining mind you...  Everywhere he's going to be is a looooong way away from me. However I did fly to L.A. to see him in 2009, so nothing is out of the question! Unlike some truly dedicated people who fly all over the world to see him...ugh, I wish!  You see, I'm in Louisiana and I'm thinking "If he doesn't come perform a blues album in New Orleans....he's got the wrong people working for him!"  Wouldn't that be awesome??? Nothing but a few hour car ride, bunk in with relatives, and aaahhhh YUSIE! Not to mention, that would give me lots of free time for stalking, uh, walking around the city checking hotels, restaurants, etc.in search of that elusive Cat!! You know, to show real Southern hospitality.  Yeah Yusuf...New Orleans would be the perfect place for a blues show! Just sayin' Laissez les bons temps rouler*!! *Let the good times roll!*PS Now y'all know I'm just kidding about the stalking, don't you??  now where did I put those night vision goggles  .....oops, did I say that out loud??  |

Just saw this article in the online edition of the UK newspaper The Guardian: www.theguardian.com/world/2014/sep/16/cat-stevens-us-tour-peace-train-late-againIt states: "The title of the Peace Train … Late Again tour refers to the singer's unhurried music career. Only six dates are scheduled so far – starting on 1 December in Toronto and hitting Boston, New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles." So, it says that 6 dates have been scheduled "so far," so maybe there will be more dates/venues in the U.S.? |

Richina, you're right - a blues album performed in New Orleans would be amazing! It would be so much nearer to you then, too! I hope you ARE able to go somewhere to see him, though, because the US tour has been so much anticipated and hoped for.
Aurarisma, don't forget to let us know which ones you're going to. Have fun planning, and I totally agree with the "You never know what's around the corner" mantra!

Jo x As far as concerts go...I figure I'll just show up on Aurarisma's doorstep in New York proclaiming "Here I am, let's get our Yusuf On!" To which she would reply "Nice to see you, let me call down for the limo and we'll be on our way!" We would then head over to Yusuf's hotel for a little pre-show supper with the family, wish him luck as he exits our ride, then take our places in the backstage wings to enjoy the concert!! Sound fabulous??  Oh, and I forgot to mention....this is all *sigh* in my dreams..... I don't really know what I'm going to do....I would like to go to the one most Majicatters are going to. There's strength in numbers and I would love to meet everyone face to face! PS Don't worry about Aura...she'll most likely be at every one! Hey, where's Hyacinth?? She lives in Texas...we need to compare notes and come up with a plan! |

and Tedibear and Jo I hope things work out and you're able to see him or perhaps if there is a second leg to the USA Tour .. I do like the intimate venues for a change ... he likes those and of course he has to be happy . we don't want him to stop touring that is for sure ..so maybe step by step .. New Orleans sounds like a dream come true.. I like that !!!

!!!! .. if you have AAA Triple A there is a major discount for tickets for Amtrak Peace Train .. if anyone needs my card AAA card let me know .. round trip is like 120. and MegaBus Line is even less.. C'mon .. leave early in morning on Amtraks Peace Train and get to the city to see the concert!!!! 
Oh, and I forgot to mention....this is all *sigh* in my dreams.....
