So let's pretend that we do not know what we already know and play a little : so far we know the title of the new album - "Tell ’Em I’m Gone" - and titles of few songs which will probably included on the album: 1. I Was Raised in Babylon (original work) 2. Big Boss Man (Luther Dixon and Al Smith's cover) 3. Dying To Live (Edgar Winter's cover) 4. ? 5. ? 6. ? 7. ? 8. ? 9. ? 10. ? ? Some album art (ilustrations) are by William Stout. New informations are welcome. (* fell free to delete this thread if it is inappropriate due to leaking informations or any other reason  And a speculation is that the new album besides European Tour in November will be followed by USA Tour in December or in the beggining of 2015.! |

Yusuf has completed a new album, which he hopes will surprise a lot of people.
Tell ’em I’m Gone is the first new Yusuf album to be released since Roadsinger. It features musical contributions from Richard Thompson, blues harmonica legend Charlie Musselwhite, singer-songwriter Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Tuareg group Tinariwen, and guitarist Matt Sweeney, as well as production from Rick Rubin.
Each track on Tell ’em I’m Gone revives the age-old themes of freedom and peace that have prevailed through more than four decades of Yusuf’s musical career. On this album, Yusuf returns to the roots of his teenage musical inspiration: American blues and R&B, using these genres to explore humanity’s climb to freedom with songs that recall the spirit of his earliest days as a nascent singer-songwriter in London.

I also like the sneakers... and the beard... looks nice.
I like the title of this thread.
I have a speculation that we might be surprised that one of the songs is not what we thought it would be. You know how sometimes there is more than one song in the world that happen to have the same title? I think we have one of those.

Mmm...US tour is a speculation that I am praying will come true.
Seeing Yusuf in concert is on my "bucket list". As in, I would like to see him before I kick the proverbial bucket.

Anyone notice the guitar he's playing? It' same Gibson black Everley exactly the same as the one he loved which was stolen all those years ago. Great to see him playing it again!

XO Because we had to move (delete) some earlier last week's facts about the album (whole track lists )... people from record company were very nervous, so we had to pretend that we do not know what we already have known and "speculate"... ask Chris (moderator) more about that |

And about respect... it must always be in both ways, and this is not a critique to Yusuf himself, but to his menagement - YES! This forum deserves more respects that they gave to it last couples of years (that's my opinion). To force us to delete some thraeds due to false copyrigt reason (track listing... what a big deal!) is not how to show respect to what is fan forum about. Peace, Barney P.s. see that's the issue Barney your opinion on a "New Album" release "thread title" is to me a bit a tad curt ..(( I mean it in a nice way)) and your "story" not the fact which is >> the title of The Album << .. there should be a thread for the Title of the Album ..Period.... but you put your "story" with it in title .. which I want no part of... It's about the AlBUM that's the Outline of a Thread Title .the rest is a tad foaming at the mouth...so I can't be privy to it, or a part of it
so I'm out of this particular thread.. I will use my thread that I created with the title "Tell'Em I'm Gone" New Album, for anything concerning the album that I want to add, and in celebrating and sharing anything new, if ones cares to join.

speculation :"form a theory or conjecture about a subject without firm evidence" no nothing wrong with it at all .. but in this Title of New Album Release Thread..(with speculation and facts) I think its a personal "story" of someone and in poor taste and .. certainly not a choice I would make when creating a thread for a New Album Release of Yusufs. I know that Everyone here has nothing but love for Yusuf ..I get it!! please don't get me wrong its just the last word in the title of the new album is Gone not Speculation, and if this thread is for facts and speculations I have no reason to be on it .. Sorry, but I do not see any reason to change the name of the thread, and I will not do that. Why? Because album will be out on October 27th, and we still know only some basic facts about the album, for example we do not know if Alun Davies is playing guitar on it or not (or will he join Yusuf only for a tour), we do not know how the other songs sound like, we do not know how the album graphics look like, etcetc.) So, we only can speculate about those things, for example I can speculate did Yusuf cover one of his older songs but finally not include it on the album etcetc On the other side, during this furter month and a half which we'll have to wait for album release... some more facts will leak out (I hope) day by day, so this thread has to be some kind of mix : our speculations and facts. What is the problem? And I did not understand well to whose "personal story" are you reffering about? B. |
