I was able to buy a ticket for the show in Boston for myself, and after much drama, a ticket for a friend as well. Hopefully I followed all the rules on the second try, and we are admitted to the venue without having to repeat the drama thing.
I am also attending Donovan's 50th Anniversary Sunshine Superman concert. Another tour taking place mainly in smaller venues. I got a great seat in the 4th row for that show. It was like old times, call the venue, place an order, no problemo. See his website for show listings.
So looking forward to this... I will be seeing Donovan and Yusuf the same week.

I was able to purchase one good orchestra seat for the September 20th gig in NYC.
I, like all of you I am sure, have read and listened to hundreds of articles, reviews, songs and past concerts; I can't even imagine what it will be like to see and hear Yusuf in person.
Does anyone have a sense of what the format will be?

Thanks for letting me know of the Donovan tour. The first 45 I ever bought was 'Mellow Yellow.' I see that Donovan is playing Boston the same night as Yusuf. Even if I'd known that before, Yusuf will always be my first choice.

Great set list. We'll have to see if he makes any changes going forward. From the sequence it looks like it might peak a bit early; i.e., Father and Son and Peace Train might work better as encores. Have not found any reviews yet, but thanks for posting this.

And about Alun... he did not play in Toronto, I asked some fans on Facebook who were attending the concert for information and got the answer that "He (Alun) was mentioned and is unfortunately undergoing some medical treatment. Yusuf gave a shout out on his behalf."
I hope that Alun will be able to recover fast and even play on some future shows, maybe on European part of tour.

I was planning to be in London anyway in November, so in addition to Boston, I just bought tickets for the London venue. Man, those tickets flew! I made many attempts at choosing seats and they became unavailable faster than I could click on new seats on the Ticketmaster site. Finally, got some! Whew, that was stressful! (now I can go back to bed. It's 4am). It'll be so cool to see Yusuf not far from where he grew up.

Good news Joyatri. Hope you enjoy both of them. Keep your eyes open, though. I have no inside information, but I can see him adding a show or two in London.

I hope Alun is well. Yusuf tweated the following regarding Alun's absence, ".@johnwillms thanks for the nice words. One correction, Eric Appapoulay was on guitar. Alun is in London overcoming small illness."

Hello Friends
I believe it was in this forum that I chatted with folks when I went to London for the December 8, 2009 show at the Royal Albert Hall. I mailed some of you copies of a Reader's Digest issue on Cat. My friend worked for RD at that time. I am now preparing for Monday's show in NYC. Instead of a transatlantic flight, I now have only a 30 minute ride in my car! I am going with one of my four older brothers. His high school senior quote was from Changes IV and mine was from Peace Train.
Anyway, I accidentally ended up with 2 extra tickets for this show. Are any of you in need? My wife ordered a pair as did I...she was holding hers as a surprise for me when I ordered a pair on my own...incredibly stupid considering the face value.
I am hopeful, even with the security with these tickets, that I can get a pair into a fan in need for face value.
Let me know
Peace, Bob Kurkela New City, NY (Rockland County)

Just returned from the Boston concert. It was breathtakingly wonderful. Set list: www.setlist.fm/setlist/yusuf-islam/2016/citi-performing-arts-center-boston-ma-73fda2f5.htmlQuick comments: I noticed that Yusuf's voice sounded a little bit rough at first and he sang a couple songs at a slightly lower pitch. Otherwise, it was lovely as usual. I was thrilled to hear I Wish, I Wish, Into White, Lilywhite, Katmandu and Ruins, which he didn't play at shows I attended in 2014. Sadly, no Fill My Eyes, which I see he played in Philly. Fingers crossed that he plays it at the London show. I never thought I'd hear him sing Boy with a Moon and a Star on His Head, but he did! He commented beforehand that "this didn't happen." And afterwards, "May God forgive me. And may my wife forgive me." Tea for the Tillerman, which is on the set list, was not performed. A recorded version was played as Yusuf sat with a cup and saucer in the "Red Room" when the 2nd set opened. The encore was Moonshadow, You are My Sunshine, and ---- Angelsea! The phrase "dancer to the gods" in Angelsea was changed to "worshiper of God." The crowd was very noisy and there were people yelling out when Yusuf was talking or during the songs, which I feel is incredibly disrespectful. And while I understand the compulsion, I'm not keen when concerts become 'sing-a-longs' which they inevitably due with Peace Train, Wild World and Moonshadow. (even Father and Son). So by playing less popular songs that many in the audience didn't know, we got to actually hear Yusuf It was curious that he played Northern Wind in the second set, which confused people. It seemed that it was people's first time hearing Novim's Nightmare as well as the newer songs at the end of the second set. Yusuf looked like he was having a blast and the audience response was incredible as has been noted in various reviews of the tour so far. I look forward to hearing what others have to say about the Boston show.

It was curious that he played Northern Wind in the second set, which confused people. That is probably because he re-recorded "Northern Wind" for his new album, scheduled for next year. "Yusuf offers me a ride home as he’s going in my direction, and he wants me to hear a freshly done mix of “Northern Wind” that he seems thrilled with. I’m happy to report that it feels like a quantum leap for his sound. It’s like everything you’d hope for from a latter-day Cat Stevens song, thanks to its poignant story and a beautiful, rich production. But best of all there is the voice. Thanks to suffering from a cold in the studio, Yusuf dropped the melody by an octave and his vocals seem to have acquired a new gravitas that helps convey his message. As we drive I hear the wisdom of a 50-year search for meaning; the sound of an artist deep into his journey. It is, in my opinion, one of the best things he has ever recorded and an emphatic case for everything he has ever done or said." Friends
My wife and I both purchased pairs of tickets for tomorrow night in NYC by mistake. We need to sell one pair:
Section: Loge 4, Row H, Seats 34 and 36 Cost per Ticket: $250.00 USD (plus $35.60 service fee) # of Tickets Purchased: 2 Total Amount: $571.20 USD
Please reply here if interested or if you know of anyone who is. The "Total Amount" is exactly what we paid for them and exactly the price we are asking.
Thanks! Bob Kurkela
