It was curious that he played Northern Wind in the second set, which confused people. That is probably because he re-recorded "Northern Wind" for his new album, scheduled for next year. Ahh, thank you for that! I somehow missed that interview. I was listing to the LPs Matthew and Son/New Masters and Very Young and Early Songs before attending the concert. I thought that with new arrangements some of the songs would be great re-releases.

Thank you Yusuf for such a beautiful concert in Boston! I was lucky to get a very good seat with the help of the Red Room, in the third row of the pit. It was the last seat to the far right but provided an amazing view not only of Yusuf, but also of his bandmates for the evening, Eric and Kwame who were wonderful.
The setlists for these concerts are fantastic, so very many beloved songs that span Yusuf/Cat's musical career and lifetime; each one is a treasure and he is going deep into his catalogue to share many surprises with us, as you can see from the setlists posted for the various shows so far.
One very touching thing I noticed at the Boston show was this. There were sign language interpreters provided for concertgoers having a hearing impairment. From where I was sitting I could see Yusuf before me, yet glancing to my right I could see these fascinating shadows dancing the lyrics to his songs. We know that Yusuf has created vivid poetry within his lyrics, but this was an added dimension of experience to see his words interpreted in sign language. So very very lovely and much appreciated I am sure.
Words cannot express how happy I was to be able to attend this concert, thank you again Yusuf from the bottom of my heart. Peace to you always.

Sorry, Bob, no luck. none of my friends responded regarding the available tickets t4tillerman -- I was going to comment on the sign language interpreters in my post, but then deleted it. I was sitting several rows back but more towards the right, so I could see them pretty clearly. I was so impressed with the interpretion of Yusuf's songs that I went up to the interpreters afterwards to thank them. I met Donnie, who was sharing the interpreting duties with his female colleague, and told him that I loved how he 'embodied' the songs -- literally putting his whole body, not just his arms and hands into the interpretation. He said he tries to 'go the extra mile' in his interpretation. Funnily enough, he said he recognized me as someone living in the same town as him (I've never seen him before!) I'm still high from that concert!

Great show last night. He came on stage at 8:15, ended first set at 9:11. Second set started about 9:37. With encores show ended about 10:55. I have a suspicion that overtime charges kick in at the Beacon at 11 PM. Very appeciative crowd, with several standing ovations. Hope tonight's show is just as good.
For those wondering, here's a list of souvenirs for sale:
Ok, lots of T Shirts. # 33 long sleeve shirt with Cat Stevens on the back - $50. Drawing of various pictures of yusuf over the years - $40. Cats attic shirt with tour dates - $40. I love my dog drawing (from photo) with Dog a Donut logo on back - 40. Cat Stevens baseball cap, just CS initials, looks like Chicago Cubs cap - $35. If you want to sing out shirt - $45. Wild World lyrics shirt - $45. Firecat youth ($35) and baby onesie ($30). Poster for tour, with dates, numbered out of 1,500 - $15. Tea Set, as he uses on stage at start of second set - $100. Few Cds for sale at $20 each. I would have thought people paying 300 a seat would have already had Tillerman and Teaser, yet they were moving fast.
Lots of changes in the setlist. Peace Train was moved to the last song before the encore, which I think makes sense. Fill my Eyes made an appearance, as did Sitting. Nice to see him do Boy With Moon and Star as well as Ruins. Two of my favorites I had never seen him do before.

Also, security was tight going in. Metal detectors and bag checks. I do suggest getting there early. They started letting people in about 6:50. They asked to see your government photo ID after the metal detector and before they scanned your ticket, but no check was made to ensure your ID matched the name on the ticket.

My impression was that his colleague was interpreting the beauty of the lyrics, and Donnie was interpreting in a manner that helps to interpret the rhythm of the music. My friend and I were both awestruck by the sign language interpreters. She was thanking them after the show as well. (and... we too are still on cloud 9 as well! This was one of the best concerts I have ever attended.)

So first time back on here after well years. I think I was last on here in the 90s. I am a 36 year old Cat Fan in Indianapolis area. I went to 2014 Chicago show sat somewhere between row 10 and 20 for 150. Went solo. Was amazing and lucky. This time I bought third to last row so I can go with my partner. Oriental theater only holds 2200. I am spending money we don't really have so this was all we could do. Seeing everyone post about their awesome seats though has made Me nervous that maybe this is a bad decision and perhaps I should take more debt to go better. I don't know, I know this is one of those once in a life time shows I am getting a second chance at. However, my partner got me the last ticket in 2014 because I was busy working and that is all we could afford then was one. So I thought this was the right thing to do. Am I crazy? I feel like I am going to be the only one in the back who is a die hard fan.

Kristensteps, Financial level has no correlation to die hard level. I'm sure there are many die hard fans who can not afford any tickets. Enjoy tnis show with your partner.

Keep in mind that these are small venues and even a balcony seat provides a good view of the artist, compared to having a faraway seat in a big arena. The good seat I had this year was a rare surprise, and I would have taken any seat in the house just to get in to see Yusuf's concert. I passed up the merchandise table this year to help myself save money this time around. You are not crazy, and when you are sitting in your seat you will hear many other die hard fans in your section singing along, knowing each and every lyric. I hope you go to the show not worrying about what seat you are sitting in, but rather thoroughly taking in every moment of the experience! It is a rare and lovely moment in time. (You will also really enjoy being able to share the experience with your partner by your side.)

Going at is a huge blessing ! I felt the same way last tour too happy to have a seat. That was all there was that lone seat in row 15 or whatever. That show was sold out in min both Amazon preorder pre sale and the regular sale. So yeah I am lucky to have seats this time too. I am really looking forward to it, so yeah front so many rows amazing, but those seats will cost me like a major appliance or vacation. I am sure it will be awesome and so lucky to get to go again. I wish I could sit close, but yah lol. Count my blessings! And yes I hope some people that can't afford to get in, get in somehow!

Come to think of it, I have yet to own a dishwasher. Probably because I have all these years been unable to resist going to concerts! Ahh, well... off I go to wash the dishes. Thanks for that, and have a great time at the show!

The Nashville show was incredible. The crowd was hot through the entire show, several standing O's. Plus, Jack White & Bonnie Prince Billy (Will Oldham) both came out to guest on a few songs (individually, of course). Tickets may have been high, but they were worth every penny.

Chicago was great. Sure there is always more you want to hear, but to get "How Can I Tell You" is a blessing. I cried. The top seats were not bad at all. Somebody mentioned an interview about Northern Wind and a new album is there a link? Northern Wind was fantastic, plus it was hilarious because it shocked my partner(who isn't a fan of the song) it got me to laugh a bit.

I was just in the 4th row for the second LA show at the Pantages earlier tonight. He was amazing. It's been 40 years still I saw him last at the Fabulous Forum in 1976. 'Trouble' had me in tears. A night I'll never forget.
