Thanks Susieq. Wish they had a picture of it, though. I wonder if he will draw the cover painting for the cd, like he did in the past. I really liked his first 4 or 5 LP covers in the 70's, for the art factor. It would be cool to see that he drew the covre again as well....LOL I'm not asking for too much.. Just 12 new songs and a piece of art...hahaha

I read about the Animals cover song. I've always loved this song. I'll be interested in hearing how Yusuf covers it. Actually this is a great song for Yusuf to sing lyrically. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Baby, do you understand me now Sometimes I feel a little mad But don't you know that no one alive Can always be an angel When things go wrong I seem to be bad But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood Baby, sometimes I'm so carefree With a joy that's hard to hide And sometimes it seems that all I have do is worry Then you're bound to see my other side But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood If I seem edgy I want you to know That I never mean to take it out on you Life has it's problems and I get my share And that's one thing I never meant to do Because I love you Oh, Oh baby don't you know I'm human Have thoughts like any other one Sometimes I find myself long regretting Some foolish thing some little simple thing I've done But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood "

Yes that is really a song that he can bring sure for the people who misunderstood him.Iwonder if he will use Baby or take some other in place. He did this in Wildworld.I wish i could see how he injoy to work on this cd .Should he also the perfectionist in this like he was in the early days?rEGINE

Yusuf used "Bana" in place of "baby" for the new version of Wild World. After years of wondering what "Bana" meant. we finally learned "Bana" means "Children" or "Child", so it just might be. I feel that Yusuf love for Nina Simone's music may have something to do with the cover of "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" and not the Animals version. Sue

I may have mentioned this somewhere here before but as a self confessed vinyl junkie, what would really make it for me is to have a vinyl copy of the new album! You know, gatefold laminated sleeve, textured inner sleeve, lyrics bag, the works... aesthetically pleasing! Cd's are convenient, for the car, but nothing beats that anticipation as the stylus hits the groove and the whole vinyl experience. I even like the smell. There's nothing quite like a 60s album that has survived the rigours of time in great shape. A cover of Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood should only be played on vinyl ;-) CD's on the turntable skip all over the place, it's just not the same!!

I'm with daddy-o as well. There is nothing better than the smell of vinyl and feel of a vinyl lp, it just makes the esperience of bying a new LP much more pleasing. And look, it hits 4 of your 5 senses, which a cd does not. Look, Feel, Smell, and Hear. I guess you could add the 5th sense in if you really wanted to. But I don't know to many people who actually tastes their LP's.

And look, it hits 4 of your 5 senses, which a cd does not. How do we know Yusuf didn't add a "special scent" to his new CD? Like his In Praise of the Last Prophet rose-scented disc. (Mine still has a faint tinge of rose - I just gave it a sniff). Hmmm... what a cool idea. He could give it any number of tea aromas. Or coffee... mmmmmm.... It's not too late, Yusuf. If you haven't already, you could always put out a limited edition dark-roasted CD. Aromatherapy.

BTW, Christine and George: I miss the LP smell too. It's a sort of conditioning device -- you remember something better the more senses are involved.

Remember Eric Carmen and his old group The Raspberries.. they use to have a scratch and sniff on all of their LP's.... Ha, I just happen to think about those albums after you mentioned the different aromas...
But, actually the smell I was referring to in my above post, was a vinyl smell.. not sure if that can be recreated in a scratch and sniff. Even if it were possible, it's just not the same thing as actually holding a vinyl LP in ones hands.

I've just sniffed my original copy of Sgt. Peppers. It's like a fine wine which has matured! The vinyl has a lovely waxy aroma and there's that musty cardboard and laminate smell. The music isn't bad either!!

Don't do it in record shops though, it might attract attention. The box on Bangladesh is really pungent, recommended. Leon Russell stinks on that!

Zimmy steals the show of course. One of these days I'll buy that Special Edition DVD ... got tired of the old VHS.

Zimmy is fab on that and I thought Ringo did a great job too. I miss George. The special DVD's box doesn't smell so good though!
