Lissette, I have no idea who the kids are. I thought of one of two possiblities. They were either children from his Hermes foundation. He's not wearing the same outfit as he wore on the Hermes page. But, it could be a different day.
The other possibility, and this is more likely the case. That they are the children of some of his band members and/or other people associated in the making of Buddha.
I've always heard he was close to both Aluns' and Paul Samwell Smiths children when they were little.

I never knew the true name for it, I just called it a skull cap.
So are they called different things in different countries?

Just to let you know Joanne, I added your wonderful wallpaper website to the Links page of Majicat. Hopefully it will help generate people towards your beautiful images.
Keep up with the good work. I only wish I was as half as crafted on the photo programs as you are. They are beautiful the way you are able to balance all the pictures together so artistically.

Also thanks for the info on CMT Canada, I hope you are able to catch it. Now if only the American CMT would only follow suite.

Lissette, don't sell your graphics short. They are wonderful, I especally liked the B&W graphic. It has a film negative look to it, creating a really artsy quality.

I'd have to say Live. Mostly because the studio recordings are so perfectly put together. And though I love listening to Tillerman or what ever, there is no room for expansion.
Where as the concert songs can add a bit of excitement, as Cat sometimes adds bits and pieces to songs (longer boats) or even goofs up on lyrics giving them a different quality. I'm not sure how many of you have heard the live version of 18th Avenue from the Cleveland Concert. The bootleg itself is of pretty poor quality, but to hear the expansion of the song, is wonderful. Plus, as Turan mentions, the chitter chatter between songs during a concert gives it an interesting aspect.
Edit: I thought I would explain what I meant by expansion... the expansion is due to the Del Newmans' String Orchestra.

Aw, the excitement of listening to a brand new Cat Album. These are charming pictures of you, Sanna. I'm glad you were able to post it on the site. And, no thanks were needed, I was more than happy to help you out.

Vivian-- if you still have the negatives, you can take them to get developed and ask for a photo cd! That way, you can upload them to the internet and email and such. A lot of libraries (minus the very-70's ones in Miami...) have scanners and CD burners that you can use... Kinko's does too. - Lissette Lissette, I think that transfer was very common back in the 70's. The Catch Bull photo was another common Cat t-shirt. Your idea about taking a negative into a photo shop and placed onto a CD or Floppy is a very good suggestion. Sanna/Vivian, you may want to try Lissettes suggestion with your photograph. I'll gladly help you to place it into a JPG if you wish. But taking it to a photo shop as Lissette suggested, may be much cheaper for you in the long run (considering Airmail isn't cheap) and it could be safer. Let me know what you decide. Christine

Hey girls, I never put Harley in a cat Tshirt. He is a german shepard, there is no way he would let me dress him up. I only placed a cat stevens baseball cap on his head, and even then it only stayed on his head for a few seconds. He's not one for wearing human clothing. LOL Here he is: Isn't he cute?

BHW, I would love to see your picture of yourself in your Cat shirt. But only if it isn't to much trouble.
Sanna, any cat reference would be welcome. I would love to see your picture with the Teaser LP. The shirt idea came upon me just because I spotted the picture. Though I do have a picture of my dog Harley wearing a cat stevens baseball cap, which a friend made for me. I never wore it, but took a picture of Harley in it.. It was to cute.
Andrea, with your birthday coming up soon, I hope you receive a really nice Cat t-shirt for it or at the very least the Foreigner CD.
Hummingbird, I no longer have the shirt it was thrown out years ago. It lost it's picture through washings. But it continued to sit in my drawer for years, before I had the courage to finally dispose of it.
As for Lady's question, Nope, back then all I was concerned with, is if I'd ever get the opportunity to see Cat in concert. My how years just fly away.

Vivian you can send your picture if your wish, I'll send it back to you after it is scanned. I was trying to think of an easier way for you to scan it but I can't seem to come up with a solution. Bonehead, do you have any old pictures of yourself in your t-shirt? I bought mine in a record store. I have no idea why I settled with an orange shirt of all colors, but it did make his hair and eyes stand out. Though, I always wish I had bought an authentic Concert t-shirt. But at the time, I didn't have any extra money when I went to the majikat concert. Aisha, at least you were able to finally get yourself a t-shirt of cat. Were you ever able to iron on the cat fest t-shirt transfer? Mine still is holding up after so many washings. As for the pants? LOL Those were the days my friend!! Elephant pants and earth shoes.

Ok this thread is about your OLD (or new) cat t-shirt stories and photo's if you have them. <------------ My photo from the 70's I had a good laugh going through old family photos and spotting this picture of myself in my old Cat t-shirt in the mid 70's. Unfortunately, it is really blurry. Those old 110 Kodak instantmatics didn't take very clear pictures or perhaps it was my friend skaking uncontrolable, because she was freaking out looking at that t-shirt.

OK, took me a while to think of which one to use, but I kept going back to the same Cat tale.
I love the story when Cat was sick in the hospital and he ran away to the farm down the road and hid out in the famers barn for a few days eating only apples. When he became tired of eating apples he returned to the hospital.
Simple but sweet boy runs away tale.

Hi 100,
There was a small piece written in my local newspaper yesterday concerning the same thing. It only mentioned Yusuf, where as Paul McCartney seemed to be the main spokesperson in the article. I think they are the same article.

And CHRIS! NO!! Van hasn't even been in the states since '98! He just keeps circling round and round the UK to the point that even his staunchest fans are SICK of him LOL! He will be at Madison Square Garden in June for a couple of nights, and also in Boston in June, but then it's back to the UK again.... '98' must have been the year I was thinking of. I was so disappointed, because he was in the west coast with Joni & Dylan and I so wanted to attend that concert. But I couldn't see flying out to San Fransisco to see him. I think they did a gig in NYC and Boston as well, but concentrated on the other side of the country, but even those cities were a bit to far considering I would have to take off a few days work to attend it.

Andrea, James Taylor will be great, you'll enjoy it. When I saw him a few years bacjk, he still sang most of his oldies, like 'Carolina on my Mnd', 'Sweet Baby James' as well as some new ones. I've always wanted to see Van Morrison in concert. He seems to only tour on the west coast any more.

This is a tough question, I would personally put Cat more in the league of Neil Young, James Taylor and Van Morrison all of whom have passed the test of time. I wouldn't say any of (these great three music icons) are as popular or profitable as Elton but they are still singing and touring today, creatiing some quality music.
On another note, I work with a young boy (18) name Shawn, who just bought some tickets to see Neil Young in Concert this summer, he is just esctatic about seeing N.Y.

I don't think they are adertising the guitar as one of Cat Stevens guitars. But rather as the type of guitar Cat Stevens use to play. An Ovation Guitar. Plus they also mention that it wasn't made until 1979. Even so, it would be a wonderful guitar for a musician to own.
