Thank you Suncatcher and everyone else, I am sad leaving; but I feel this is the perfect time to move on. It has been a wonderful 12-13 years running this website. Chris/George/Annie will do a great job with Majicat, I trust them completely. They love this website, as much I do and will create a wonderful archival website.
Majicat will live on. Christine

No, that isn't Majid. Majid has black hair. It's probably someone in a park he stopped to chat with. I love the photo. very nice. Here is the BMG photo I mentioned earlier with Yusufs brother in law in.

I have not seen any comments on the very cute'three-generations-type' picture on Yusuf's tour site, yet. What is wrong with us? Reminds us too much that we could be (or some actually are) grandmothers/fathers too? I love that picture and wonder whether the couple on the bench next to them had any inkling?... This picture? It's adorable. Does make you wonder if the guy recognizes who Yusuf is. Just love Yusuf's sneakers!
Do you think that the couple next to Yusuf and his wife in this picture could be Swedish relatives? Does anyone know who they are? Sun, the couple you asked about on the park bench chatting with Yusuf and Fawzia, is Yusufs older sister Anita and her husband Alex. From what I understand they attend most of Yusufs. concerts. found this on a 'Yes' blog about Anita and Alex. They sound like pretty cool people. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Growing up, my parents were probably the least musical people I knew. Maybe because they had four boys right away it was a money issue. Regardless, they weren't very hip. We moved to Austria in the early 70's and thankfully my father began working with Cat Steven's brother-in-law, Alex. Alex and Anita (who spent a lot of time with us kids-thanks for all the candy) took my parents to see Anita's brother in concert. Soon after there were several Cat Stevens records in our household. Cat Stevens was the man back then and just like "Yes", his music is still great as ever. Just as I am thankful for "Yes", I salute the very special music that Yousef made; it changed my world. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PS... I can't locate the photo right now. But Alex is also featured on the photo along side David, Yoriyos and Aminah, in which Yusuf is signing the BMG contract.

Love your photographs Martina. The concert sounded wonderful. I so wish I could have attended at least one of these concert. Just keep all the info, pictures, youtubes. coming. Being a concert on-lurker, I am green with curiosity and envy.
Oh and I love the photograph of Yusuf at the piano with the hat. Reminds me of his younger years.. He always wore hats back then. I always loved that hat in the CB@4 record album.
Be safe everyone... and have the time of your lives at the concerts!!!

Vicki, Marky, Dan and all you other lucky concert goers; I have created a new CATEGORY.... It's called THE CONCERTS = 'MAJICATTERS CONCERT REVIEWS AND MORE'. I am placing sub-folders with each of the concerts there. This will ensure that each concert will have it's own folder, in which you can create your own threads and keep each concert together. I hope this will work for this tour and for future tours as well. majicat.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=concertreviewsChristine

downunder72 asked:
Good suggestion, Vicki. I had been thinking about earlier. But hadn't acted on it yet, as the concerts weren't here yet. But since tomorrow night is the first of the concerts, I will put it together tonight. I'll create separate sub-folders for each of the concerts. As I had for the previous U.K. Tour. This way, as the concerts happen, people can post on each individual concert folder.

Martina, Dan (Trotsnj) I am so jealous of both of you.... no, I'm just kidding. (maybe not ) I am really thrilled for you both. Have a wonderful time. We expect to hear great reviews from both of you, after all this is the first concert and his maternal home country. There is no hurry, do it when you return to your homes, right now just have a wonderful time at the concert (s). Dan, I am really happy to hear you were able to attend couple of the concerts after all. ;D Martina, enjoy those concerts! ;D

Your post made me remember the episode and hunt it down. At the time when I posted it on the other thread, it had not been placed up on youtube. So your post was good timing.
I love James Taylor.... "Oh Man' remark in the end of the skit. I really liked listening to James again.

Oh No Majid!! It looks like the spammers have attacked your competition. There quite a few 'Cialis' and 'Viagra' spam videos' up on your competition page. Not sure if you noticed, so thought I would give you a heads up. I hope you can delete those spammers. Christine

Milan, so nice to hear about your friend, I checked out the video. Very nice, even though like Charles, I do not understand German. But I am happy to hear you may (even if it is slim) be able to attend the Berlin concert. I'll keep my fingers crossed for both you and your friend Brother Andrej.

Aw, you guys really know how to touch someone with your kindness. Your all very sweet and I am happy that each and everyone of you have found your way here and have found such wonderful friendships.
Charles thanks for the video... You know how that song tugs at my heart since the early days when we first met, 15 odd years ago. King of Trees has always been my song, and I see that it is Regines song as well. :-)
Here is another beautiful video from our man.

I have been reading this thread and have come to the conclusion to lock it. This has become too religious in nature. And as it states in Majicats TOU When threads start taking a religious manner and makes some members feel ill at ease, because of different views, or members who wish not to discuss religion, or just because this is not the forum to discuss such issues. I know the thread has been mostly friendly in nature, but it is still time to close the thread.
Majicat's T.O.U. rules
Respect of Religion, Nationality, Gender and Race: I should also add respect for Agnostic as well. Animosity shown to others on the grounds of race/nationality/gender/religion will not be tolerated
Religion: Due to the wide variety of people and religions, I have decided to be fair to everyone, discussions pertaining to religion should be kept within your own pm and/or email, so no one is offended. (within a few exceptions) Edited: I placed the above TOU up during a turbulent time at Majicat and I didn't want any friction resulting because of such threads. Recently, I have become more lenient on religious talk as long as it is presented in a mature and friendly way. That is not to say Majicat is to become a religious forum or that ALL religious threads will be accepted. If they start to sway, they will be locked. (I kept the above tou version up, so people can see what it will result back to, if this tou is abused)

Very well said Sun. We do not know all the logistic behind the rhyme and reason why this has happened. But Yusuf is not the only band that has cancelled certain tour dates. And he will not be the last. It is very sad that the Denmark fans and in particular Ale, have lost their chance at seeing Yusuf. And I feel for them. But I am sure Yusuf has agonized over this. He is not the sort of person who would do this with out a lot of thought. So lets give him a little slack. We can be sad for the fans with out being accusing. I do understand what Ale is going through and can relate, but we also need to accept things and try to be understanding. I was in the same shoes a few years ago. I was all set to go to the May 2009 New York City concert, I had my airline tickets bought and everything ready. But unfortunately... my country the USA prolonged Yusuf getting his working Visa for so long that he had to cancel the New York city concert that I was so looking forward to. They offered me tickets to L.A.... but after wasting tickets to NYC, I could not afford tickets to L.A. I was upset, but you have to learn to accept things and go on. Just try sometime to be the person who was responsible for inviting all the majicatters to the L.A. concert and not being able to attend yourself?... Some times things just happen. We have to learn a little understanding in situations we know nothing about. I couldn't go to the one concert I always wanted to see by George Harrison either, back in the late 70's at Cleveland. It was cancelled a month before the concert date. No explaination.. just canceled and he never ever did return to Cleveland. So please lets stop all this accusing, the man probably feels bad enough all ready with all his fans dogging him. It doesn't help. And no.. I do not feel Yusuf owes us answers for everything he does. Just be happy that he is performing again in Europe and you are able to see him. So please, lets try and give the man a break.

I received this note from Yusuf Islam.com to post. It is in response to the many disappointed fans. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We understand that many people who purchased tickets for Herning are very upset about the decision to change the venue from Herning to Stockholm. Unfortunately circumstances arise sometimes where no other decision is a possibility and this is one of those times. The rest of the tour will not be affected at all and all tour dates are now 100% confirmed, God Willing. Sorry again for the inconvenience caused to many of you. The Promoters have confirmed to us that people who bought tickets for Herning are eligible to transfer there ticket to Stockholm or ask for a full refund. Some have asked why it wasn't possible to add another date, unfortunately this also was not a possibility we looked at all options available and this was the best one. yusufislam.com

Hope that he comes to Canada soon. I know he has many fans here, especially in the province of Quebec. George One can always dream, how about: Halifax (Hi MikeW) Quebec City Montreal Toronto Calgary Vancouver If he can do multiple concerts in Germany, I'm sure he could do multiples here too! ;D He needs a good Canadian promoter! Don't forget the center of Canada, Glaucus. Perhaps Winnipeg would suffice for the people living around Manitoba. ;-) Very nice dream. I hope it comes true for you. As for travel... It's out of the question for me as well. I am very happy for those who have the opportunity to travel to see concerts. But not everyone has those resources. So, it is still nice fantasies to dream one day what if... ..... :-)

Look at who is doing all of the trashing... Hannity, O'Reilly and the likes... The same people who trashed him in 2004. And to Hannity defense, he hasn't read Yusufs explanation, so his views are sooo one sided anyway, as is the rest of Fox News. How can you be diplomatic, if you don't read up on the matter at hand? If the rest of America believed their bias views, then Yusuf would definately be much better off wiping his hands of America all together. But lucky for us, not everyone shares Hannity's views. And I hope Yusuf realizes this. But it does break my heart to think of the hurt Yusuf must be feeling. He tries to give us his all, and he gets bashed. Keep smiling Yusuf and singing of Peace.

And isn't that a Gibson black Everley he's playing??? All the best, Chris It's Ok Chris ;D... did you see that crowd? 150,000 plus,.... I probably would have been clear back by Washingtons Monument anyway. On Yusufs website, he said he took his 'ebony J200'.
