Richina - I bet if there was a Cat Stevens version of "Let's Make a Deal" there is NOTHING you wouldn't have in your purse!

Since you have chosen to question my character on the forum, instead of by PM where it would have been more appropriate, I will respond here.
I never said that people could not see colors. I said that black font is much easier to read on phones, tablets and other devices, but your sarcastic concern for the eye health of other members has been duly noted.
In response to your assertion that people would have told you if the colored fonts bothered them, I can tell you with absolute certainty that that assertion is false. Maybe the people you chose to ask would tell you, but the great majority would not. You can choose to believe that or not. Your poorly-veiled accusation – on the public forum - that I have somehow made this up says far more about your lack of character than it implies about mine.
When Chris asked me if I would moderate the forum did not hesitate to say “Yes.” This is where I have made some wonderful friends, Chris and Annie among them. However, in the few months I have been doing this I have been saddened and disappointed at some of the downright childish behavior on display. I honestly can’t believe that you would be so upset at the site only having black font. All of this over the color of font allowed? Really?
Lastly, how quickly you forget your own words. You posted this on January 17 in the Update on main site and Forum thread: "I commend you Chris George Jane and Gabi for doing what you are doing .. I'm on board your vision and if I can do anything .. email me please.. I do see what you want to create and I think it will be lovely. I will email you a few singers sites that you might want to take a loook at .. I agree with you all tho' ... you have a vision and it will be amazing and anyone not liking the idea .. basically needs to get a life ..or be more busy with the new year !~! I think Random got a bit out of boundaries personally .. a bit slaphappy .. .... I totally seee the big picture here and its going to be coool!!
sometimes I think that private messages is where some of the comments and slappyness should be so we can keep the site sweeet and smooth ... for all generations .. but just my opinion ..
well peace xoxoxxxo ~~~
Peace? Your post was anything but peaceful. Aurarisma, no one is forcing you to be here and if you find it so offensive to not be able to vote on everything, you don't have to be here. Pretty simple.

I used the email on the Maqam Centre site. You're welcome to email them and ask if they have determined the parameters yet. We would then need to resurrect the idea from scratch if someone wants to take it on.

Since it is being beaten to death, here is what I posted a couple of weeks ago:
"please refrain from using colored fonts for an entire post. Many of us no longer have the eyesight we once did, and some people are using their smartphones or tablets. Black type is much easier to read for all of those reasons."
That request was based on feedback and requests I have heard from other members. The request was not being respected so this change was made. If I can find a way to limit the colors to those that CAN be easily viewed on various devices, I will certainly do so.
Now, back to Yusuf...

Not me - I returned all of it. what happened to the large contributor who met the missing amount for the tile may I ask ?? .. I know of someone who sent their money for their tile that they bought for Maqam Centre and the Centre took their money and what they wanted on the tile ?? Are we not doing it Jane I know you returned the money and didnt want to hold on to it but I thought all we had to do was to agree on a tile and send it off with the request ?
peace We still had no information on the requirements and parameters of the tile. We did not know how many lines, font, image - we really didn't know anything about what was going to be allowed on the tile. Given that, we were not even close to just agreeing on what we wanted.

I have never been a collector of any type of memorabilia, but I am VERY impressed with your collection, Richina! Any chance that you could take pictures of a few more of your special items and post them here? Like the blue vinyl Teaser?

i would love this to Novim,Richina hope we can Jane are you buying ? Like Chris, I have lost count of how many times I have purchased some of these albums, but, yes - I will buy it! Of course I will! Richina - I bought both the Australia release of "Roadsinger" and the Australia concert DVD from Australia and the shipping was not expensive at all. It seems to cost more to ship things out of the US than into the US.

Thanks, Glaucus! I like it a lot, but I tend to like most orchestral music. I actually think the song lends itself nicely to brass and woodwind.

click on it now and you will seee a FBI page come up lol about anti piracy laws ... lol.. no really!@@@ The page actually states the megaupload site has been seized by the FBI. Not surprised - they have been making pirated materials available for years. It's just too bad for the people who have legitimate content on that site.

If anyone knows HTML, please send me a PM.
Thank you!

Since the other thread DID become a catch-all, is there any reason these threads cannot be combined? The other thread is no longer "favorites" and if this one isn't favorites, either, it seems we don't need both. Ultimately, it makes the most sense to have photo collections on the main site organized by event, and the forum can be a place to discuss a particular photo or to place a random photo not tied to a particular event. In the meantime, I think we just need one thread, "Photos of Yusuf" so they are in one place on the form and people don't have to worry about which thread to use. Unless there are any strong objections to that, I will try to do that when I get home tonight. I disagree. Some photographs cannot be "organized by event," unless you intend to have an endless list of events. The interesting photograph gzm posted recently where Yusuf is praying in a chair during Ramadan is an example. The point of having two threads for photographs on the forum is this: Some photographs ("favorites") are outstanding, high-quality portraits. Others ("misc, random") are interesting mostly from a documentary point of view. The existence of two threads does not pose a problem. (Surely no one could be insulted by the existence of two threads.) As you can see, GZM, who has posted more photos than anyone else in recent months, eagerly embraced the idea of having two threads. Therefore, I suggest that before consolidating the two, you wait for a few months to see if/how the threads are used by others. Surely there cannot be any legitimate reason to rush to eliminating either of those threads this evening. The “legitimate” reason is the one you cited above: “Well Hell's bells! I also started the one called "FAV PHOTOS", but instead of being reserved for favorites, it has become a catch-bin for every new photo someone finds.”Since it has already far deviated from just being favorites, there is no sense in having two threads for random/new photos. Photo collections really belong on the main site and yes, organized by event. You stated “Some photographs cannot be "organized by event” which I addressed by stating “…the forum can be a place to discuss a particular photo or to place a random photo not tied to a particular event.” I never said anyone would be insulted by the existence of two photo threads, just that it doesn't make sense given what "Favorites" has become.

Hi, GZM - yes, you can continue to post your photos here. We will move them if we think they are better placed somewhere else.
Thank you for these - they are great photos!

A 2nd Yusuf-Photo-Thread!! ...wonder if this is allowed... Well Hell's bells! I also started the one called "FAV PHOTOS", but instead of being reserved for favorites, it has become a catch-bin for every new photo someone finds. I'm not complaining. Since the first thread was such a hit and has become so voluminous, I was thinkin' it might be good to have two threads. One for true favorites. Another for miscellaneous snapshots. I am certainly not invested in that concept ..... As for what is and is not allowed, since my general theory of life is "love and do what you will" (St. Augustine), I recommend: "Love Yusuf and post what you will." Since the other thread DID become a catch-all, is there any reason these threads cannot be combined? The other thread is no longer "favorites" and if this one isn't favorites, either, it seems we don't need both. Ultimately, it makes the most sense to have photo collections on the main site organized by event, and the forum can be a place to discuss a particular photo or to place a random photo not tied to a particular event. In the meantime, I think we just need one thread, "Photos of Yusuf" so they are in one place on the form and people don't have to worry about which thread to use. I saw that G-One was able to respond to the new member, Justin, on "Introduce Yourself" but I can't see a reply "button" on my screen. Are we locked out from that, or am I missing something? Gabi (G-One) was able to respond because she is a moderator. We are all new to the admin functions of moderating a message board, and I was surprised to even see a new thread posted on that board. We're trying to figure this out. I'm certainly open to a thread in which people can introduce themselves. What we are trying to avoid, however, is a long series of "welcome" replies that would then take up most/all of the last 25 posts. There is a great deal of feedback that many people who come on and look at the last 25 posts are, quite frankly, turned off when all they see are posts not related to Yusuf in any way. Obviously, we don't want to turn off people - current or prospective member - who want to come on and talk about Yusuf. As I said, we are trying to figure it all out and all we can do is ask that you be patient as we do so. Jane

Yusuf's creationist views are no problem for me - I'll turn to Stephen Jay Gould and Stephen Hawking for my science and to Steven Demetre Georgiou for my music! I feel the same way, hyacinth. Yusuf can believe whatever he wants; just don't take away my Cat Stevens albums and CDs!

I am not at all surprised. Don't many (most?) people who believe God created the world dismiss the idea of evolution? After all, don't the holy books all say that God created man, not that God created apes who evolved into man?
