Jammy, Meg and Rosemary, I hope you all have a wonderful time tomorrow night ;D Is that all from this site? While you are there enjoying Yusuf I will be at the o2 in Birmingham seeing White Lies in concert, a bit different

I really do think you are making more of the "God is great" comment than necessary. It was no big deal, other things were shouted out throughout the night which haven't even got a mention. I doubt if I (and the majority of the audience) would have even remembered the comment. We were too busy enjoying ourselves.

Quite a nice review, bit short maybe. I think we really did benefit from the events at Dublin because if the musical had been in the middle of the concert it would have ruined what was a fantastic atmosphere. It worked well with it being shown first before the main concert. I think the actors must have been very nervous, (not that any nerves were evident) who wouldn't have been after what happened, I'm so pleased that it was well received and applauded. Birmingham (my home town) didn't let me down, phew

It was a brilliant show and as thomasowen shows the setlist was wonderful, definitely a show and a half as Yusuf said ;D ;D
Plus it was lovely to meet up with other majicatters ;D

God is great Tell me that someone didn't really scream that It reminds us in the US of 9/11 I can't see anything threatening about shouting God is great.

The audience in Birmingham loved him ;D ;D ;D
There was no muttering by me and I never heard any criticisms at all.
And he sang Miles From Nowhere, one of my absolute favourites ;D ;D ;D ;D

Irish Times "Radio presenter Gerry Ryan, who was there, said he had never seen such a “level of hate and bile and viciousness” from an Irish audience. He heard one fan shout at the singer: “play Peace Train, you f***ing b******” . He said he met Yusuf after the show and the singer was “utterly shocked” and his family, who were in the audience, were traumatised by what had happened. “I really felt so incredibly ashamed,” Ryan added." www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2009/1117/1224258981275.htmlWell, they have to be ashamed (of course, not the majority... but we are always ashamed when, for example, our neigbour do something which is not right, so I can understand Ryan) YUSUF, yours true & thousands of "normal" fans are with you, with your art & music, glad & happy that you are not "mechanical traveling jukebox" I've just listened to Gerry Ryan's radio show and I am absolutely shocked It sounds horrific and the level of discontent seems completely out of proportion. It must have been incredibly upsetting for the actors on stage, Yusuf, his family and other members of the audience who had also paid for their tickets and did want to watch. "Play Peace Train or I'll beat the crap outta ya" its unbelivable and makes you wonder if these were really 'fans' at all and as for not playing his new songs, I want to hear him play his new songs, why not? surely all artists play their most recent albums at a concert. Yusuf may have made a mistake by allowing the preview of Moonshadow to run for too long but he and the cast really didn't deserve such abuse

Maybe it work better if the show started with the musical as a warm up, as you would with a supporting group.

Its not fair to compare Yusuf's concert to Leonard Cohen, I went to see Leonard and he was exceptional and most of the audience was amazed that he performed for 3 hours, but this is definately not the norm.

After reading everything posted (BTW thanks everybody), I'm inclined to believe that the audience was not very sophisticated as far as manners go, apparently unable to comprehend an event poster, and/or unfamiliar with the nuances of Yusuf's career! Richina, a true fan (along with the rest of my Majicat buddies!) I'm not sure Birmingham is very sophisticated either, I'm feeling nervous for him now

It looks like whitesatin, who is no longer a member, has deleted her photos from photobucket, that would then break the link and remove them from wherever she had posted them.

I really think that Yusuf has got something to do with this site.[/quote] It looks legitimate to me, I'd be very surprised if Yusuf wasn't aware of it.

I haven't had chance to listen to the Ken Bruce show yet, so I hope its still available tomorrow. Yusuf was on Smooth Radio on Thursday 29th Oct during the morning at about 11am, it was mainly to promote his Birmingham concert but they also talked for a few minutes about his recent visit to his old school

I've bought my tickets on the general sale, nothing dodgy I was just wondering if the presale tickets for fans were cheaper.
