I can't wait to add that DVD to my collection. What nice cover art it has. Usually concert DVDs don't look that good.

Hi to you too Majid. Hope baby Muhammad Sulaiman and family are all well. So very good to see you back on the board again. What great news you bring us tonight Majid. Once again the bearer of good news. I think everyone will be over the moon, jumping up and down with joy when they see your post today. ;D I think we all expected a DVD of a tour would be announced, but I don't think we expected it so soon. Not complaining. ;D I guess some were kept very busy working overtime this summer to get this out before xmas. I think we will all treat ourselves to an early xmas prezzie. Thankyou good people. Will be looking forward to finally seeing Yusuf, and all his incredible Roadsters performing Downunder.

From Yusuf's official site:
Old Browncoat's Back
Yusuf has donned the Roadsinger browncoat again on cover of the forthcoming ‘Yusuf – Roadsinger Live in Australia’ DVD, due out in that region the end of the year. The DVD is regarded to be a collection of some of the best performances ever seen of Yusuf In Concert since his return to the stage 7 years ago, when he sang at Nelson Mandela’s 46664 Concert in Cape Town accompanied by Peter Gabriel and the Soweto Choir.
Containing a Medley of classic hits and favorites from the Cat Stevens era, the DVD is expected to do extremely well following his successful Tour of Australia and New Zealand in June of this year. It is hoped to be released worldwide sometime next year.

Hi Majid, thank you so much for this wonderful news! You posted it when Leonard Cohen was performing in Wiesbaden "this man is still working for your smile" :-) He worked three and a half hours !! Hope you and the Yusuf family are doing well. And the grandpa is singing sweet lullabies for baby Sulaiman. What about the long awaited launch of the moondshadow musical? You know some majicatters are ready for a next trip to London ;-)

Thanks, Majid - something very exciting to look forward to! As most of the UK concerts were filmed what chance is there of a dvd release of those? that would be wonderful for the fans here who attended those wonderful shows! Thanks again, Chris

I missed it the first time but I've just noticed the press release mentions they're also releasing a Blu-ray edition in AU/NZ. I bet those backgrounds look great in HD. Blu-rays tend to more tricky with region coding though, so I'll be sticking with the DVD. This quote from Yusuf in the press release is also worth reading: That leaves me feeling quite optimistic there'll be more touring.

Yeah - X-mas is coming soon!! Up to now I was willing to wait patiently until it's available here in the old world. But I'm not sure if I can resist much longer. It's really not too expensive to order it from there ;D

I've just given in and ordered it from Australia too! I told my husband it was an early Christmas present - fortunately he's used to me! It'll probably pop on Amazon or somewhere in the meantime, but hey, at least I'm organised! Jo

There's some information on the extras at the ViaVision website: viavision.com.au/coming/169-cat-stevens Some behind the scenes (rehearsal) footage, encore tracks and video of Noxshi Avenue. I'm pretty sure it should arrive before Christmas. My Aussie orders arrive to the UK in little over a week, and I don't think it's much longer for the US. Also, I'm not sure if JB Hifi do but many sites ship pre-orders before the release date.

Thanks, Wambaugh! I wonder who wrote this effusive praise: There was celestial excitement in the Southern Hemisphere when the announcement of Yusuf touring Australia and NZ was made. When he last hit the road in Australia it was as the enigmatic Cat Stevens, a powerful and evocative singer-songwriter who brought the world Moonshadow, First Cut Is The Deepest, Wild World and so many other classic folk-pop hits. In 2010, thirty six years later, he returned, reminding us that the voice that enchanted and inspired the dreams of a generation is still as timeless as ever.
An unforgettable ‘blue moon’ experience, Yusuf's historic concerts were everything his audience hoped for. As one would expect from such an innovative and unpredictable artist it was not a just tour in the usual sense, but an extenuation of his musical life journey.
Yusuf’s sell-out tour of Australia and New Zealand saw 85,000 adoring and awe-struck fans sitting and swaying, mesmorised by the fact that one of music’s greatest inspirations embraced them as his intimate friends.
Sit back and enjoy the music that changed the world Forever!

I ordered mine, but because it is PAL format and most US DVD players only play NTSC formatted DVDs, I am hoping that I can burn a copy on my laptop and then play the copy in my DVD player. I can play the DVD on my laptop but who wants to do that when I have a 42" TV to watch it on? Friends in the UK have copied discs for me and they do play in my DVD player, so that is my strategy for this one. Fingers crossed!

I ordered mine, but because it is PAL format and most US DVD players only play NTSC formatted DVDs I'm fortunate enough to have a PAL capable and region free DVD player. That's after I tempered with it, cracked the code if you want! Nothing really illegal since I could do it from the remote!! ;D BTW, can you recommand a safe place in Australia with a good track record to order this DVD from??? Any input appreciated.
