Everyone, who had the pleasure to hear me sing, will say TG that I didn't join the chorus line :-) What about our famous background vocalists from the SBE - Helen and Meg? There'll never be another night like this!!! What wonderful concert, I owe God I this this might experience a highlight was in my lives. And many of us were in Yusufs chorus then !! Just listened to it last night again. Guess I'll make another video titled "Yusuf & 3000 friends at the SBE"

I just realized what a magnanimous gesture it is that this anthem is produced in Berlin! A tribute to the East German revolution 22 years ago :-)
He is simply THE BEST!!

Thank you, M! Lovely news and happy picture. Now doesn't that smiling face tell you everything. If a picture paints a thousand words,... but one word can sum it up, Sun you said it, 'HAPPINESS'!!!! What a wonderful face!!!! ;D Couldn't agree more, Vicki - and I love the plaid shirt!

Yusie must have read my posts about that same old beige one he wore for a year+! ;D LOLOLOL .... Meanwhile, I was observing that the photo is, oddly, in black and white and was tempted to write a post to his blog saying: "Do you see what I mean? Plaid just drains the rainbow right out of you ... What? No, no, no. This is NOT what I meant when I said that you look best in black and white ... sigh ...."

Sun, I know the man - you know ;-) And I keep on thinking that mixing of the new anthem was not the only reason for him to be in a studio !! Remember my former posting(s) - he is preparing something good for us!! Inshallah

The music of revolutionRockstar and activist Yusuf Islam talks about his latest song inspired by the popular uprisings in the Arab world. We speak with rock icon Yusuf Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens, about his latest song My People which is inspired by the popular uprisngs calling for freedom and change in the Arab world. The song was recorded in a studio close to the Berlin Wall which fell in 1989 paving the way for the unification of Germany and the collapse of communism in Europe. Islam, who gave the world timeless classics such as Wild World, Morning Has Broken and Peace Train, says his song is also intended to urge people in the Arab world to keep fighting for their rights. Repeats can be seen on Friday at 0430GMT, 0830GMT and 1430GMT. from: english.aljazeera.net/programmes/rizkhan/2011/02/201122484440953389.html

It just thrills me that Yusuf chose to use my two favorite colors (purple and orange is such an unusual combination) in the "Freedom Calling" poster! Gee ... I wonder how he knew. Attachments:

Yes, maybe because it has been so emotional for all of us in front of and on the stage , it seems like it was just yesterday! The first real big gig after almost 3 decades.
To be honest I still have tears in my eyes everytime I listen to the recordings! And we merged from virtual to real friends :-)
