...I love Procol Harum Monika: The very first '45' that I ever purchased (I was twelve years old) was "Reach Out, I'll Be There" by The Four Tops... the second was "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum... loved it! ;D And wasn't it issued on one of our favorite labels, "Deram"?... I believe so. -Bud

Both of these are unofficial releases, otherwise known as boots!

I was actually talking about official releases but now that you've mensioned these two I'm considering them tbh I'm always hesitant with non-official releases.

I feel your pain Affy, I feel your pain. I'm dying to drink my coffee from a happy mug. That would be a great way to start the day.

The latest "Kitty Litter" to be added to my "Cat Box"!! cartoon magazine about television shows (July 7, 1973) notice the black star on the lower right...it announces a 2 page colour pin up of Cat Stevens! How in the world did he end up in this publication?? Oh wait, I know....these people wanted to sell magazines!! "IMHO that's certainly one sure way of doing it!!"a 1972, U.S. printed, hardback copy of "Teaser" children's book WITH the (usually absent) dust jacket! I already have the 3 and 11 language paperbacks, as well as a hardback sans jacket. a 1981 14 track compilation album that I didn't have a 1975 songbook I didn't have....that makes 21!Isn't anybody else as crazy as I am? (I know about you Monika! ).....no other collectors amoung us?? *sigh* pity Oh, and as always....don't tell my hubby!!! sshhh!

Richina - you know you could be putting the money you spend on this stuff toward actually seeing the man? At least you admit you're crazy - and we wouldn't have you any other way

Oh my, what to do...what to do?? *sniff* I suppose I'll have to wait till he comes to the U.S. of A...... Aaahhh, and it will be so wonderful when he comes here to sing for me oops... US...I mean "when he comes here to sing for ALL of us!!" But until then I'm just gonna chillax and enjoy at all my collectible collected stuff!! Whew, glad that's all figured out. C Ya later Janey Poo!!

Oh, um, oopsie.....I like forgot this one. And now, for your viewing pleasure, today's aquisition which is... lonely, really ?....
dang, if I had known I coulda helped a brutha out!! I tried to buy this 1972 mag some time ago, but the price went through the roof, so I quit. Bought it more reasonably this time! Can't wait till it gets here, even though it's gonna cost $8+ to post it from Australia...what a drag!Don't nobody tell Jane I bought sumpthin' else....you know how fussy she can be.

That's a great picture of him. Let us know if the article reveals anything we might not already know. Or anything you find particularly interesting. Just wondering how your hubby happened to miss the room in your house stuffed with cat memorabilia. You got a secret dungeon or something?

Just wondering how your hubby happened to miss the room in your house stuffed with cat memorabilia. You got a secret dungeon or something? I will most certainly let you know if I learn something new about our "poor lonely Cat".....*sigh* Bless his heart And as far as all my stuff goes....hubby hasn't missed it, he just shakes his head and says "You bought what??" or "When you gonna stop buyin' that junk??" or "There's yet another package for you .......!!" But you know, I don't critisize him about what he buys that gives him pleasure....(well, not much anyway) and regardless what anyone says, I do this for me. I guess I could be out blowin' money on other things like clothes, shoes, home decor, etc...oh wait, I do that too!!!! ;)Whutever!! ;D And who cares, it's what makes me special!!! ;D

Richina, that's fabulous! And the picture - he looks about twelve !!! (I'm sure I must go round with my eyes shut not to have noticed it before, but I must say, I LOOOOOVE your firecat icon!) What else memorabilia-wise have you got your eye on at the moment? Jox

What else memorabilia-wise have you got your eye on at the moment? Jox Hey Jo...I'm glad you like my icon, I thought it was pretty cool when I saw it! You know, I have to change pix occasionally 'cause I get bored with the same ol' thing! As to memorabilia, things are slow at the moment. I have so many things that I'm down to looking for items I've never seen. It's a shame that Yusuf got rid of everything when he converted....can you imagine all the "one of a kind" things he had back then?? He probably considered them junk..... Boy would I love to get my hands on that stuff!!! Guitars, keepsakes, gold and platinum records......what a shame! My ultimate goal is to have something he owned personally....yep, I know, little chance of that, but I'd be more than happy to pay!!

Amazing to see the Tasmanian TV Week with Cat on the cover Richina! My brother used to buy TV week and it's rival TV Times every week and when he moved out of home for a while, we would still get one or the other. They were really cheap then too. TV Week is still going but costs a bucketload nowadays. I so wish we kept all the old mags we used to have back in the 70s! I wasn't aware you guys collected absolutely everything about Cat and was wondering if you'd checked out these items - some rare singles here too: www.redeye.com.au/answer.asp?reion=USA&atype=both&artist=cat+stevens&code=5&search=searchand www.redeye.com.au/answer.asp?reion=USA&atype=both&artist=cat+stevens&code=2&search=searchThey once had a rare record of Cat Stevens 1972 tour of Australia, made by Festival Records - it was one of just a couple of hundred that were pressed by Festival Records here in Australia for sale at the door at Festival Hall to promote the concerts and provide memorabilia. I tried to get it and hoped majicatters might wish to chip in and send it to Christine (at that time) - it was selling for $999, way too much for me alone. I had the idea that it could be owned by 'Majicat' and copies could be made for all who wanted it. Sadly, when I contacted them about it, they told me it had sold a while back and they'd not updated their web catalog! Soooo sad. I think it would have gone down as one of his best concerts of all - he even sang 'I want to live in a wig-wam' on that!! I think that record must be the rarest of the rare! I found out about it only by accident and then followed up some links and downloaded info that I'd planned to tell you all about, but that's a while back now and my computer crashed and I lost all my personal work and sadly all that info about the record too. Maybe something for all you collectors to keep in mind tho'! and of course quite a few songbooks here: www.wowhd.us/search?q=%22Cat+Stevens%22&f=class:booksI don't know why but the rest of that last link doesn't like to include the part :books with the url and leads you to nothing helpful. If you click on the url and then just type the extra :books into the url address bar and press enter then you'll get there. Either that or highlight the entire link by running your mouse along it and holding down your mouse' left button then select 'copy' (not 'copy link location') and paste that into the address bar, that works too. Sorry about that. I have no idea why it didn't like the whole link pasted!

What a find that would be, Richina! I imagine anyone who'd cared enough to buy something like that in the first place would be very reluctant to let it go now, but I hope you're lucky one day!
Loving hearing about all your fabulous finds!

Hi - 27 years ago I happened to win in an auction one of Yusuf's Gold records that he had donated to a charity. Very nice item in my collection - it's the Gold record awarded to him in France for Tea For The Tillerman.

Loving hearing about all your fabulous finds! Jo x Thanks Jo! There is actually a site www.rarestarguitars.com/collection/cat-stevens-ovation/ where a guy owns an Ovation guitar of Cat's, acquired from one of Cat's nephews. This same fellow also has 4 gold discs purchased from David, I think, who rescued them from the office walls .....wonder if Yusuf misses any of his earlier souveniers??
