thank you Glaucus for everything and everyone too... I can't even process Barclays Rock Hall Induction and few days before they have been so special to us all haven't they!!! I know one thing .. the vibe in that Center .. was streaming love peace and Joy .. and Yusuf was so happy .. got that feel and taste for the American Audience again ... it's been a passionate friendship since the 70's when he came over .. nothings changed he and the audience well... it just picked up where it left off really once he got up there .. it was soooo magical ....and the American Audiences .. .. there's really none like it .. kind of a self assured style and bouncy joyhopping audience .. that was filled with Love for him .. It's been wonderful reading about this very special event. Many many thanks to all who have been putting videos and descriptions of what happened on to the Magicat forum. I know it takes time but it's appreciated by so many people. Thanks for the care!

Believe it or not, NOT ON HBO CANADA........ Here's part of the reply I got from an e-mail I sent them: Unfortunately we were unable to obtain the rights to this year’s Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame: Induction Ceremony. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause.Disappointment is right. Not really surprised, that kind of thing always happens on Canadian cable channels. Hopefully it will show up on Dimeadozen or something. |

Hello Everyone !! xoxoxo I just heard on HBO that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductions will be also be televised for a 24 hour Marathon starting tonight, at Midnight until tomorrow Midnight .. so maybe that is when they will open it for all HBO'S in all countries I don't understand why it couldn't be shown in all countries even if it was a pay per view thing for the Rock Hall or something as donation to the educational department.. oh well .. .. but see if you have HBO Signature....perhaps you will get it on there starting at midnight!! xooxxxo oh also go on HBO You Tube Channel you might be able to sign up for a streaming or on the Rock Hall Website ... xxoo

Hello Everyone !!! Hope that you're having a beautiful sunday .
last nights HBO Rock Hall Ceremony was amazing ..and Yusuf/Cat Stevens sounded so good and the applause was mighty!!!! My friends are calling me saying he sounded sooo goood and smooth ... and that they were crying through it it made them so happy and brought so many beautiful memories of their childhood and filled them with such Joy!!!and that he looked amazing too!! Even more good things are on the way ...God willing .. USA get ready!!!
On another note .. I literally stopped breathing when in the middle of Father and Son song ..I noticed that HBO or Rock Hall chose to edit the song cut out the middle .. Can you believe it ? that was so disrespectful in my eyes .. and The first digital song ever and reallly that shouldn't happened to any inductees song .. !!! I'm not happy! and I'm a Donor there and working on a few projects with them and they have some explaining to do, and I believe an apology to Yusuf ... and his fans .. they also cut his speech which wasn't long at all and the humorous parts ... it was all so magical and uhhhh I even noticed where the applause during the show was silenced ... The audience at the LIVE Show was crazily applauding .. it was thunderous ... welll they tampered with so much... they moved the inductees around ..they were not in the order that they performed on the night of the Induction ..
They really homogenized the .. out of the show .. What was wrong .. Couldnt they afford more $$$$ to put it in its entire original format that is Rock and Roll!!! not to be edited!!!! HBO and Rock Hall I believe made a poor choice
I can't believe I watched Bruce Springsteen for 40 minutes and they couldn't leave in all of Father and Son and Cats speech where he mentions his musical influences and the joy he excuded after Wild World with the Joke he made ... great momeents that were edited.. perhaps people who don't know the song it went unnoticed by them but I'm sure not by his fans ....
hm..... I'm calling Rock Hall on Monday and asking why they felt the need to shorten Father and Son ..and why they didn't shorten any other songs .. the repitiion on Bruces songs .. and Nirvana ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz no offence to any of the other performers ... ... I timed each performance too...
on a greater note ... Everyone will be able to interact with all of Yusuf/Cats music at the Museum and Memorabilia and archives and learn of songs that they might not have heard of and see raw footage in the theaters.. that is The Best ... His Soul and Music Transforms with Love and Peace..
I have to say .. I saw so much fist pumping at the concert ...people couldn't contain themselves..he ignited and united them as One in Pure Love and Joy!!!... the audience was so loud .... clearly so very happy that he is in America, and anxiously awaiting his new album and tour in USA God willing xoxxoxox and again .. for the record .. they really cut ehe applause out .. it was mightier than one hears on that edited version .. take my word for it !!!

I say this softly .. even tho I'm a bit upset with the editing ... I will make my point known sweetly and softly... they need to hear it . if anyone else feels that way hopefully they will make their point knows as well about shortening Father an Son ... Call them up and let them know that that was a poor choice, if you feel the way ..

If anyone wants to write an email to HBO about their editing out the middle of "Father and Son" in Yusuf's Induction Set ..I still cannot even fathom that idea ever poppin in someones brain ..!! so very rude and in bad taste ... also it being the fist digital song ever and well ... they should never have tampered with it.. that was crass and very much an insult in my eyes ... I actually feel it deserves an apology .

Its a crime isn't it ~~~~!!!!!!!! Why they did that I will find out .. rather than taking out some of the cuss words or all the hugs Courtney Love gave everyone on stage .. or the reptition of the song Bruce sang ..with respect I do like Bruce but I really didn't need to hear that chorus over and over in fact I didn't I muted it .. that beautiful moment with The Cat and Waddy Wachtelwas so beautiful and is the soul searching part of the song .... uggggg ... why did they do that !!! it was such a tender moment too ..

they should have left his segment untouched unedited .. it was a state of perfection !!! and that is Truth! the Joy Tenderness .. laughter .. it was all there and then some !!! oxxoxo Beautifully unplugged and open hearted ! the applause was soooooooo loud!! it was a feeling that I've been wanting Yusuf to feel from my country America for a long time .. and it arrived!!! I haven't been on this forum for a while, but I saw something I had to share. I was sitting in the dr's office waiting room, picked up an old issue of The New Yorker magazine (April 21, 2014), opened it up and my eyes immediately fell on an article about Cat Stevens/Yusuf. It has an interview with him just prior to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. From everything I've read his birth name is Steven Demetre Georgiou. As you stated, Adams was an early stage name. Later he changed it to Cat Stevens as a (way cooler!) stage name; said to be for the sake of simplicity. I can sympathize with him there since I constantly had to spell out my ethnic family name.
Gotta say I think the name Demetre is really cool. So is Yusuf. Reminds me of my dad's middle name, Joseph. Alas, Yusuf still has to spell out his name sometimes. A guy can't get a break.
A rose by any other name smells as sweet.
Thanks for sharing the link to the article. If I had found it in a magazine in a doctor's waiting room, I would have "borrowed" it as well.
