Oh Bud. You're back. YAY!!! ;D I've missed you and thought of you often. I'm so glad to hear from you and to get your input and take on everything!! And as far as "Yusufology" (love that term), I think Jane, Helen, and several others have a PhD! I'm nothing more than a "junior higher" myself and look forward to one day attaining their level of knowledge! However, I've been at it so long I feel as if I must have failed a few grades in light of all they know! Don't care, I'm a fast learner and I am trying my best to catch up. Also I want to thank everybody for letting me know where you've been. It was getting dark in here, thanks for the light! (see, I put my shades on!) In other words..."I think I see the light, comin' tooo me...!!) Love y'all! Hi Richina, I would bet that everyone here at Majicat believes that you long ago earned your PhD in Yusufology, as well. -Bud

And we are glad to see you back, Bud! I know the pain of losing a loved one doesn't disappear overnight, but hopefully our banter and Richina's posts ;D will help lift your spirits. It finally feels like Fall here in Minnesota. Of course, people are already complaining that it's cold - it's only 48 degrees! What are they going to do when it hits 20 degrees below zero?? Fall in MN also means the Honeycrisp apple. I think they are available in other parts of the US now. If you haven't tried one, I highly recommend it! Thank you so kindly, Jane. All of the terrific posts, the good-hearted banter, the great and unsurpassed information (one truly receives an education here - not to mention an advanced degree in "Yusufology"!) and the wonderful fun that lives and breathes on Majicat never fails to lift my spirits. And may I close by saying, "Boy, the thought of those 'Honeycrisp apples' sure sounds great... and delicious!" Thanks so much again, Jane And thank you, Minnesota! -Bud

What is everyone doing? Hardly anybody is posting, there's no banter, no discussion, no fun chatting! Is the whole group just busy with fall activities, if so I understand, but I miss y'all! I know you're not packing for the U.K. quite yet! Oh well, just asking since there has been so little activity and everywhere I look I see my name as the last poster...thaat's boring. Looking forward to "bantering days" again!! Greetings Richina, Jane and Incognita, Well, here's one Majicatter who has returned. I'm ready to 'get back in the saddle'... I'm ready to 'return to the fold'... I guess you could say that I'm "Ready... ready... ready..." "Present and accounted for, this is Bud/'Sir Lorry Load', and I am so happy to be back." Oh, and please know, Richina, that your posts are never, ever "boring"... they're all _great_! And it's great to be back, Folks... it really is. -Bud

Hello - I feel like I have just walked into someone elses house, so excuse me, I will leave my shoes at the door. It has only taken me the best part of a decade to wonder across to this lovely place. Just wanted to know if anyone I know is going to the Liverpool gig? Could meet up maybe? I probably have a spare ticket too, if anyone wants it at face value. I got two, but my 3D friends just aren't getting as excited about the prospect of seeing Cat/Yusuf live as I am!! I was a long time member at the old Cat site for those who are wondering!! Hey, Jammy! I certainly do remember you from "the days of the old school yard" (a.k.a."the old Cat site"). No need to kick off your shoes and leave 'em at the door, unless you really want to. "Don't be shy": stick around this beautiful, 'new' house for a spell! Welcome to Majicat, Jammy, I'm glad to see you here. -Bud

This is certainly fantastic and welcome news, catchem, and so very well-deserved for Yusuf. Thank you for digging out the news for us! And now, the question arises, can a nomination and induction to the "Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame" next be in the offing? I was extremely disappointed to read the list of this year's nominees, as it once again did not include Yusuf. Granted I am quite prejudiced for the man (and, in my opinion, justly so) but can you believe some of the folks that have elected to the "Hall" before Yusuf has even been nominated? Yikes! It will authentically and truly become the "Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame" on the day that Yusuf is ushered in! -Bud

Oh yes, Richina you're too precious to lose. Your witt and humour is one thing I look forward to every day. You manage to put a smile on my face, and I'm sure on everyones face, even on the most cloudy day. I hope you will have the pleasure and satisfaction to be able to say to us, "I told you so", or "Didn't I tell you",or "I knew it". ;D I know I will be delighted. Yes Richina you are a ray of sunshine and put cheer into us Definitely too precious to lose! If you get the chance to say "I told you so," I shall be delighted too! When it comes to Richina, and what she means to all of us here on Majicat, I couldn't agree more, Vicki and Incognita. "Amen, sisters!" -Bud

Oh, this is so cool, Christine! I sure hope I'm able to pull this one in sans "buffering". In fact, the only time I ever welcome "buffering", is when I'm hit with a headache. But, seriously speaking, this is a great find by you, and I do look forward to checking it out! -Bud

I've paid good money for old, cool stuff that was "Cat" friendly and would probably really cough up a hairball to buy something neat that belonged to him personally!! ;D Too funny, Richina! It was loads of fun following the progress of the 'Ol Greeny bidding and thanks to all of your keen e-bay checking and timely updates, we were all able to do so Many thanks. But, please, no hairballs. By all means, purchase Cat/Yusuf-related stuff to your heart's content, but no hairballs! You're much too valuable to us, and we can't run the risk of losing you to hairballs, okay? ;D -Bud

Hello Friends, May I please be a contrarian, and choose 2? Both verses are from the classic "Can't Keep It In": "I’m up for your love, love heats my blood, blood spins my head, and my head falls in love" -and- "You’ve got so much to say, say what you mean, mean what you’re thinking, and think anything" Thanks, Folks! -Bud

I believe that Majicat is very much the 'Peace Train of the Internet'. -Bud Yes indeed - we are woven together in this Wild World Web as one fabric and we ride the Peace Train together So beautifully expressed, Incognita! And no locomotive in this Wild World Web could ever hope to have a steadier hand at the helm and on the throttle than our very own "Engineer Christine". -Bud

Thanks for the reassurance Bud...you're always there when I need you!!!! Helps to know I'm not totally cccrrraaazzzyy! Yes, it is so nice to know. Bud always has a good word for everyone. Richina and Vicki, thank you so much for the kind words. You know, from the very first day that I signed on as a member of the site this past May, I have enjoyed every moment of my time spent on Majicat. Poking my head in here to see what my fellow Majicatters are up to has truly become one of the highlights of my day. I know it has been stated many times before, but it deserves repeating: it is truly remarkable the way everyone here supports one another and cheers each another on. I believe that Majicat is very much the 'Peace Train of the Internet'. I couldn't be happier that I decided to jump aboard this train and, in return for the endless enjoyment I have received and the countless kindnesses that have been extended to me, here, it feels so good and so right for me to return as many of the same that I possibly can. Thanks so much again, Richina and Vicki. -Bud

What great news, Uwe, congratulations! After 30 yeas of waiting to see Yusuf live and in person, you must be walking on cloud nine. Your success in finally receiving the opportunity to see Yusuf in concert gives me hope... I have been a fan of his since 1971, and have yet to be able to do so. No need to worry about your English, Uwe. You are coming in 'loud and clear'... and HAPPY! ;D -Bud

I've always been sentimental about "things", I guess I believe they give me some type of security. I really believe that this is simply part of the human condition, Richina... or part of what makes us human. I know that I feel the very same way about "my stuff" (as George Carlin might put it!), and I would venture to quess that maybe 99.99% of our fellow 'peeps' do as well. -Bud

Hi Incognita, I just wanted to acknowledge what I told you in a private message: your take on Yusuf and "'Ol Greeny" is truly awesome. I share so many of the thoughts that you express on the matter, but there is simply no way I would ever be able to approach the terrifically insightful, analytical and artful way in which you expound them. So expertly done from someone who obviously is quite a student of Yusuf, the man and the artist! -Bud

The joy and anticipation around here today is palpable! Oh, and I was just wondering... is any attendee in need of a rather inexperienced, butter-fingered valet?... ... or someone, maybe, to just lug their luggage? I know, I know... I can just hear ya: "Nice try, Bud". Again, I am so happy for you concert-attending Majicatters! -Bud

I am so happy and pleased for all the Majicatters who will attending! You are not only fortunate, but so very deserving, as well! Yusuf's fans and admirers are surely unsurpassed, both in their loyalty to the man and in the kindness that exists within their hearts and souls. When the date arrives, may you enjoy safe travels and an unforgettable evening! And as for everyone who shall be unable to attend a show: our time, most hopefully, will come. -Bud

Aw now that man definately knows good colors. My two favorite colors green and yellow! And they are together! ;D "'Ol Greeny"... "Redroom"... green... yellow... This thread has sure evolved into a 'colorful' discussion. And, yes, my (really quite horrible!) pun was intended. -Bud

I think it would be cool if Yusuf bought the console, refurbished it, and put it in his studio. It would be quite a conversation piece, don't youthink? I agree, Richina. It might prove to be a bit difficult to do because of its apparent hefty size, but I think "'ol Greeny" (or "Alice", if you prefer) has "Redroom" written all over it (or, "her", if you prefer)! -Bud

Say, Viv, I really like your list (I love the fact that you have included Yusuf's appearance on Jay Leno!), and may I say that you have exquisite taste! I see that Jane has included selections from the "9 Lives" demo recordings that were done at Morgan Studios in her top ten. Wow, is that a SUPERB collection! A very kind and thoughtful Majicatter generously provided me with a copy of this gem, and I just can't play it enough. In fact, if I were to have included selections other than 'official/commercial' releases among my "Yusuf as Cat Stevens" top ten, a majority of 'em might very well have been from "9 Lives"... it is that great! -Bud

Sir Lorry Load, I am glad you enjoyed making the list but I must confess that list was rather hard to make myself. Like you said too many gems too little to choose. Have a great sunday. Thank you so much, catchem, and I hope that you are having a nice Sunday, as well. I greatly enjoyed reading the lists that you and Jane formulated, and I can't wait to see what some more of our fellow Majicatters choose as their top ten favorites. Again, you've come up with a really neat topic! -Bud

Great topic, catchem! We Majicatters will have fun with this one. Talk about having an embarrassment of riches to choose from... wow! For the purpose of my lists, I shall include only 'officially released' recordings... Yusuf as Cat Stevens (Subject to change... D-A-I-L-Y!): 1) King of Trees (Buddha & The Chocolate Box, 1974) 2) Lilywhite (Mona Bone Jakon, 1970) 3) How Can I Tell You (Teaser & The Firecat, 1971) 4) Oh Very Young (Buddha & The Chocolate Box, 1974) 5) Into White (Tea For The Tillerman, 1970) 6) The Wind (Teaser & The Firecat, 1971) 7) I Want To Live In A Wigwam (Mona Bone Jakon sessions, '70) 8) Two Fine People (Greatest Hits, 1975) 9) Jzero (Numbers, 1975) 10) Just Another Night (Back To Earth, 1978) Yusuf as Yusuf (Loved the way you put that, catchem!): 1) Thinking 'Bout You (Roadsinger, 2009) 2) Midday [Avoid City After Dark] (An Other Cup, 2006) 3) Welcome Home (Roadsinger, 2009) 4) Maybe There's A World (An Other Cup, 2006) 5) Peace Train (Footsteps In The Light, 2006) 6) Roadsinger (Roadsinger, 2009) 7) Be What You Must (Roadsinger, 2009) 8) One Day At A Time (An Other Cup, 2006) 9) Wild World [Bana, Bana] (Footsteps In The Light, 2006) 10) Greenfields, Golden Sands (An Other Cup, 2006) Whew! One of the hardest things I've ever had to do... but I had one heck of a good time doing it. -Bud

What a cool story, mj, and what a great find! From the article: “He was not extremely tall, (he had) dark hair and a beard and (was) in his 30s. A Cat Stevens lookalike,” said Bean. “He wasn’t frightening. He didn’t look aggressive..." Hmmm... sounds quite a bit like our guy. Maybe this spirit is a late relative of Yusuf's... or maybe he's simply a 'wannabe'... Anyway, I'm with Regii: the earthly incarnation of Yusuf can sing (boy, can he ever!)... how 'bout you, 'Cat the Friendly Ghost'? -Bud
