Cristalina, I don't know much about The Sun. Is it one of those rags that have this on the front cover: "I AM PREGNANT WITH ELVIS' ALIEN LOVECHILD" Love, A'isha ;D lol, its not quite as bad that. Page 3 is the topless model, which is what sells the paper and then most popular is the crossword.

In all honesty the people that buy the Sun probably never read the first article yet alone the aplology, so I doubt it did Yusuf any harm. Most of the men that buy the paper don't get past page 3.

The Sun is not a nice or friendly paper, I'm sure it only printed an apology because it had to. I know plently of people who buy the Sun and although I haven't seen it myself, I'm sure that someone would have mentioned the article to me if they had actually spotted it themselves. It is probably hidden away.

Well I've just come back from holiday to read this, so I haven't been listening to or watching any news, I'll have a scout round to see if I can spot anything in the UK papers. However I should think Lloyds Bank are deeply embarrassed about the whole incident. Unfortunately I think it was an error caused by the bank clerk who maybe felt there was a terrorist link, if they wrongly thought the passport had been tampered with. It was the same for the Irish back in the 70's, especially after 2 of our most popular local pubs with bombed by the IRA, local Irish people were afraid to speak because of their accents and of course our justice system did eventually charge and lock up 6 innocent Irish men, which had to be released after many years with their lives in tatters.

Unfortunately there have always been tyrants like Saddam, what about Idi Amin, now living a good life I believe in Saudi and Mugabee (sp?) I hear today he has had the opposition jailed.

I had a very similar problem Jancat, only I couldn't post on any thread I could still send and receive private messages but that was it. The problem for me though was caused by my computer, as I could post when I used my son's computer. Hope you manage to get it sorted

To acknowledge the hysterical fans conversation. There is a section in the book, where the Walker Brothers make mention about how they thought they would be safe from overly excited fans. Because the cinema they were performing at had a safety net for them, the first 12 rows would be held for wheelchairs, only to find out that the fans didn't abide by the handicap section. The Walker Brothers weren't safe after all. There must have been a huge difference between the fans of the 60's and those of the 70's. Thanks for sharing this, Christine! I wonder if it was because the "concerts were almost exclusively in cinemas or town halls - or local concert halls," (according to Majicat's page on Legends.) Maybe the places felt so small and familiar that the fans lost their inhibitions? (Though of course, that didn't happen at Porchester Hall, so there must be more to it than this . . .) ~Sun~ I can't quite imagine the first 12 rows being held for wheelchairs, not in the UK anyway, in my experience you were lucky if you could even get in a cinema in a wheelchair, even as recently as the 80's/90's Most of the Cat concerts I went to would be considered smaller venues (one extrememly small ;D) and I have to say the audience were there to listen, I never even encountered girls standing on the chairs, unlike my sister who had completely different taste in music to me, they all went wild when they went to see Tom Jones Maybe the audience were over excited because of Jimi Hendrix?

This Picture? The audience reaction is astounding? Oh and for us older fans, wouldn't it be impressive to be able to stoop down like this young Cat, and not get hurt or topple over? Lol, I think I'd need support to get up straight from a stoop like that I have to say that I never saw an audience reaction like that at any of the Cat concerts I went to

I think there is another session at a cinema in Sheffield on the 18th June, I can't find the link to confirm it, but it was on the boards somewhere. Anyway, I'd definitely recommend going to any UK fans that are able to get there. Seeing the DVD of Porchester Hall on the big screen was great, I spotted all of the members that attended several times ;D ;D I had an urge to applaud after each song, it was almost as if I was at the concert again. Apart from 2 people sitting alongside us who slept through the whole showing, lol The interview with Danny Baker was really interesting, with several humorous comments made. It was relaxed and informal and I just wish I was able to remember everything that was said I was so pleased when Yusuf chose to sing Blackness of the Night, as this has always been one of my favourite songs I was also amazed when we were all just milling around outside at just how many people seemed to remember us from the night of the PH concert. I got Yusuf's autograph again ;D and I had a chat with Val and briefly with Alun, as well as Anita and her husband. Anita said she'd read our reviews on Porchester Hall and she thought they were lovely

I don't know if Joanne has already mentioned this Vivian, but she really did remember to say to Yusuf "Vivian sends her love" or something like that anyway

From the article - "The new songs, such as "I See the Light" and "Beloved", tended to merge into one another. The crowd remained patient and reverential - like a congregation -" What is wrong with these reviewers, how could I Think I See The Light merge into the Beloved. Patient and reverential like a congregation, what planet is Ben Walsh on? "And at least the new songs are blissfully short, even though a couple of the more fatiguing numbers had to be repeated for the TV people." WHAT fatiguing numbers had to be repeated, as far as I can recall Father & Son was one of the songs, I've never heard it described in that way before. I think the audience would have been more than happy (not too sure about Yusuf though if far more had been repeated. There was an audible sigh at the end of the evening when the BBC announced the recordings were ok and we could leave, we're a greedy bunch ;D

I've just been to the link to read it myself Marie, lol. I must say I'm rather intrigued as to why André Paine's name is misspelt as I copied and pasted it, also the last line should have read "the Cat is definitely back"

[/b] I just love hearing about this and will welcome anymore tidbits anyone thinks to tell!! If anyone can think of anymore details to tell it will be much appreciated!! Waterside [/quote] When we were all backstage in the room speaking with Yusuf, a man came in and said "So you're a Blues man now then" to which Yusuf laughed.

Wow, great story! I am curious, how was the reaction from the public during the concert? How did sound "Father & son", one of my favourites? So, he performed also "I think I see the light", this song was not mentioned on the set list on one of the earliest posts about concert (but, it was on a "menu" we already saw on a picture)... and, how it looked like whilw he was playing a couple of songs twice? His reactions? Please, please... You're right I forgot to include I Think I See The Light in the set list The audience were very appreciative, we laughed when he sang "Cyber space" in Where Do the Children Play (an updated line ), the applause suitably toned down after The Little Ones. The laughter during Father & Son when the lights were faulty and Yusuf made a joke while singing was quite audible. The interaction between the audience and Yusuf seemed very comfortable to me. We were all more than happy to hear 3 songs repeated because of the lighting problem and think some of us secretly wished for more problems, so we're hear more, but alas no There was a song earlier in the evening that Yusuf began again because he wasn't quite happy with it, can't recall which song but apart from that the recording session appeared to run very smoothly
