OK so you are saying the same. England wants it's country back. That is an English problem. Not a Bush or America or Yusuf problem. I suggest you and Regine overthrow your governments. America ousted England. So can You.[/quote]
The above sentance shows how little your understanding is, I've no intention of explaining things to you because I can see no point.
As for this site mirroring cs com you couldn't be more wrong, I don't recall you on there by the way. Majicat is and has always been friendly since I've been here and it seems to me that its you thats wants it to be different. I won't be responding to any more of your posts because I don't want to help you achieve that.

Regine, you're not the one that should be saying sorry, its not your fault your post was completely misunderstood, some people should remember English is not everyone's first language. I think you manage very well. As for the political party called Flemish Block we in the UK have the BNP (British National Party) they have really been stirring things up for the Muslims recently because we had local elections last Thursday. I'm sure there must be something similar in America and NO I am not being Anti American saying that, just realistic.

Well Penny, You stated that you have government jobs in your country wherein the actual purpose of the job is to hate and fear Muslims. We do not have any jobs like that in America, so naturally When someone from the UK chimes in as well, what do you expect that we should think? I wasn't sure if it was me you were referring to, but it seems as you have named me in another post it is. I really don't know what your problem is,"I'll chime in whenever I want." I wasn't being anti American, okay I made a joke and actually said I was joking. But I don't have to explain myself to you perhaps you need to lighten up. I don't have a problem with Bush, well only the bad influence he has on Blair, but I don't see what this has to do with anything on this site.

The articles being referred to were in the Sun newspaper, I don't think anyone takes it seriously, yes they did retract their statements, but I don't think sending copies of this to anyone is going to help the situation. At the time when Yusuf was deported from the US our goverment, Jack Straw I think, said Yusuf was not a terrorist. We know he's not a terrorist, its the Americans we need to convince, only joking ;D

That was a very interesting article. I am not too sure that I agree with faith schools, as I do think it segregates the children. But this is extremely hypocritical of me because I have chosen to send my son to 2 faith schools in his time, one C of E and one Catholic. I did this because I felt the schools were offering a better education in a more caring atmosphere, so I haven't a leg to stand on.

My goodness don't know whats come over The Sun Newspaper lately, they've also just said sorry and asked the citizens of Liverpool to forgive them for its allegations about the action of Liverpool football fans during the Hillsborough disaster in 1989, 96 people lost their lives at that time.
I noticed when lots of the newspapers were reporting on Yusuf's deportation that old photos of him were being used, especially wearing the turban, I think this was deliberate, to try and give the image of him somehow being radical, you'd be amazed how many people commented to me on what he was wearing, more than the content of the article. Also the articles on Yusuf usually appeared alongside stories of Iraq or suicide bombings, apart from The Sun, which gave a full page to Yusuf shared only with adverts.

Yusuf was on the ITV news earlier today, he was with the children and said he had been handing money out and there were lots of little hands wanting some. The concert was mentioned and apparently there is a meeting being held to try and ensure that an early warning system is installed. I watched the next news broadcast hoping to see it again, but for some reason Yusuf wasn't included and they just mentioned the need for the early warning system. Seems odd as usually the news is just repeated exactly the same throughout the day

I can't remember where or on what programme I saw Yusuf say he would be donating the proceeds to charity, gosh I must be going senile But he did say he wouldn't expect to be No.1 when Band Aid was such a worthy cause.

You could be right Daddy-o.
Not sure where I got this info from, but Yusuf said that he expects Band Aid to be No.1 and that he will be donating his money from F&S to the needy.

That sounds like a great evening Chris, I'm pleased you and Annie got to meet him You're right Jen it was so cold when we were standing outside the Albert Hall a year ago, gosh that time has gone quick. I wish I could have gone this time, at least I can upset my husband now and tell him he may have been able to meet Damon Hill.

I've been wanting to see Yusuf on Larry King for years. So from a purely selfish point of view, I am pleased to hear this. But also, I think with what is happening to Yusuf rightnow, Larry King is about the best person Yusuf can have interview him. Also I see Yusuf is being interviewed via satelite. I had wonderd how the interview was being conducted. Is Larry King broadcast on the CNN- International network as well or just within the USA? I'd be really interested if anyone knows whether Larry King is on CNN International, I can get that channel. I've only ever seen news but its not a channel I go to often.

Thats a fantastic article by Yusuf.
I have to say everyone in the Uk that has mentioned the incident to me so far, have considered it to be a ridiculous idea that Yusuf is in anyway connected with terrorism.

I've just bought 4 news papers which all carry stories on Yusuf. It will be interesting to see the different views. Not sure when I will get back on line but I'll let you know what they say when I get the chance. The general opinion I'm picking up is that people are shocked and America has got it wrong. But then we know that don't we.

Has anyone else had problems when ordering at MOL. I preordered the Nor Cd back in June and expected delivery in July, I emailed them when it didn't arrive but didn't get any reply. I then discovered the release date had been put back to 31st August, so I just left it and waited. I checked on that date and it showed my order as having been sent, so I eagerly waited its arrival. Sadly nothing came. I've emailed them again but get no responce. I've just checked the site again and see the release date has altered again, but it still says my order has been sent, so I don't know what to think

This is definitely welcome news. It is refreshing to see Iran realize that some western music can send a positive message for young ones, and Yusuf is definitely a great choice to bring that message. Peace,Vivian I agree with this sentiment Its good that they can recognise Yusuf's/Cat's music as good both before and after he converted.

First time I've read this thread, I'm so pleased so many of you were able to get to the radio show and meet Yusuf Christine, I loved reading your post, I could almost imagine I was there, I can just picture Yusuf trying to hide under his coat. I remember the song 'Mothers' being played at the Nor concert, it was a very respectful song.

It was great. The start was pretty much the same as 'Cat Stevens, The True Story' which is usually shown on the Biography Channel. But then we got the latest news with clips from 46664, Peace Train, NoR. Yusuf done some explaining that he felt he could communicate better through music, which gave me the impression we will be hearing more from him in the future. He said some people view him as 2 people, Cat and Yusuf, but he was just one person. He felt his music and lyrics was basically good and wholesome (not his words but something like that) and was still appropriate today. I can copy the video as I have taped it, but I believe the format is different in the US.
