Yusuf's father's name was Stavros. If I am not mistaken, I believe "Yoriyos" is the way Steve's real sir name, was pronounced, but it was changed to "Georgiou", because it was easier to pronounce and remember. So in actually, Steve's real name is Steve Yoriyos!

Steve's real name was Georgiou which pronounced in Greek
its Yoriyou.

Yoriyos is pronounced for a first name (George), which was my Father's name.
My Mother was named Georgina and my Father George.

Yoriyos did reply to me many years ago and did say that it was his Grandfather's name.

I'm a little confused - do you mean that Yoriyos took his grandfather's last name (Yoriyou) and turned it into a first name (Yoriyos)?

My grandmother's name is Georgina - but I never knew it was from Greek.

Under the helm of Greek producer Chaz Kkoshi, still unable to read music, two years and a few hundred retakes later a debut album was born - Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee; otherwise known as Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee (the variation is in the pronunciation). The name was taken from a book Yoriyos’ father brought home from America.

Yoriyos, writing exclusively for Natashas Tribute album



Taken from the documentary about the making of the "Natasha Tribute Album". In this small extraction the song Yell Cut is featured which was the last song Natasha completed writing on the day she passed away. We follow Chaz Dabat through the process of recording different celebrities and Natashas friends in various studios around London. Also in this clip Yoriyos, Yusuf Islams son (Cat Stevens) who was also moved by Natashas story writing exclusively for Natashas Tribute album.

It seems she was only 25 years old, when killed in an auto accident. She was singer.

That's still $35 USD. I would do the download instead of waiting for a less expensive CD.

I wish it was during the weekend. The 7th and 10th are both work nights...otherwise I would go. Have a feeling Noxshi will be very well received here- it would be interesting to see.

Thanks for the heads-up, Jane. This is wonderful news. I agree with you - I definitely prefer "Yoriyos" over "Noxshi." I wonder if he'll be on tour with Yusuf this spring in Europe.

Noxshi is coming to The Mercury Lounge in Nyc on the 7th of March .. !! I'm so excited ! I'm treating 4of my friends to the Noxshi Experience .. and will see Yoriyos and say hello from everyone here on Majicat !

Why'd it have to be on a Monday? That's the hardest day of the week. Even if this middle aged lady decided to have a late, and noisy, night out...there would still be an entire work week to get through. My 25 year-old step-daughter said she would go with me, but do you think this will be a very late night aurarisma? Have you been to the Mercury Lounge before?
