If his comeback on YouTube from the first beginnings has got together to me on the week-end sometimes Naples, now Bochum.... is to the Aussi tour. It is quite amusing like his original voice more and more comes back. At the beginning quite immense goofs were partially in his song also partially still on AOC. Now since Iceland 50, England tour and particularly from what I is from Australia has belonged his voice is again fully there he does not break also the high tones in his songs any more from what he at the beginning with pleasure acted. I have to go repeat after "RESPECT" this the voice so many years and particularly at his age again so comes back is also not natural.

At least ONE video from Adelaide (?) - there's gotta be more I know - I thought we would be flooded with videos from the Australia tour! I have to admit I don't quite understand it. Let's keep hoping we see more in the days to come.

From the SBE show in May to the RAH show in December was a dramatic difference (in my opinion.) From then until these Australia shows his voice just contiues to sound younger and younger. I completely respect the man he is today and am not one to say "The Cat is back" (because he is not Cat; he is Yusuf.) However, I will say that it is so special to hear him sing those songs in that same voice that drew us all to him and his music so long ago. Just fantastic!

I know everyone has said this already-but it just hit me again, listening to the 'Lillywhite' clip. The voice is just wonderful, with all the old nuances. It makes me so happy to hear him'own' those songs again. What a blessing not just for us but for him too!

One of the comments from Youtube Adelaide videos below - has it already been established that the photos were shown during Father and Son? If so - I missed it - and I'm sorry for being redundant. I was also there.. about 6 rows from the front! Great concert.. my photo (and my fathers) was one of the ones on screen during "Father and Son"

oops sorry - question regarding photos answered back at page nine. I get such chills watching the entrance during Lilywhite - the roar of anticipation from the eager crowd, the strumming guitar on the dark stage, and then - HIM. Chills. Peritura I agree. His voice sounds so pure in that clip

My wife and I have front ow in the centre section. I pray the photo of my son and I are shown. My wife doesn't know about the father and son photos so she will most likely pass out! If the photo is shown, I am hoping to get a photo Yusuf playing with our photo in the background. I have had some luck in the past with those kind of shots

Marshall - how about taking a video when he sings that? Then you can do a screen capture and guarantee the photo. Good luck and have fun!

Marshall, I too hope that your wife will be beautifully surprised. What I wouldn't give to see the twinkle in her eyes when she sees who two favourite men, a bigger than life image, for all to see on stage. Oh please do take some video. You too will want to have this on tape, for old keeps sake. It will be priceless.

As we wait news from tonights Melbourne concert. I remember Yusuf had a thing about 'numbers', and I sometimes believe he still does. I was just thinking about the date of Yusufs first concert in Australia [glow=red,2,300]10-6[/glow][glow=red,2,300]2010.[/glow] Add all the numbers gives you a [glow=red,2,300]10.[/glow] It's the year [glow=red,2,300]2010. [/glow]That gives you the number[glow=red,2,300] 3.[/glow] The promotion of this tour keeps saying his last tour in Australia was in [glow=red,2,300]1974[/glow] when in actual fact it was [glow=red,2,300]1972.[/glow] This gives you the number [glow=red,2,300]19,[/glow] which then gives you the number [glow=red,2,300]10.[/glow] So maybe there was a reason for [glow=red,2,300]1974 [/glow] as it gives you the number [glow=red,2,300]21, [/glow]which means again, [glow=red,2,300]3.[/glow] Confused I read the number [glow=red,2,300]10[/glow] in numerology is a very fortunate and 'holy' number, leading to victory in situations where others fear tto tread. it provides vibrant and creative originality. There is alot of mysticism surrounding the number 10. The number [glow=red,2,300]1 [/glow]represents the male, and The number [glow=red,2,300]0[/glow] represents the female. Number [glow=red,2,300]3[/glow] is a symbol of being, protective, artistic, versatile, witty, energetic, lucky. Sorry if this is irrelevant to some, but I was just thinking aloud. I find it somehow connects to the events. If Hestia Lovejoy would join us here, she may have something to say, and shed some light. ;D

Thinking out loud again. ;D Maybe there is little media coverage of Yusuf Downunder, and in concert, because he is not accepting to be interviewed? Maybe the press is a little peaved by this and giving Yuusf the cold shoulder. Yusuf may have very good reason not to be interviwed, thank goodness for at least we have the 'TEASERSTNEWS' to catch up on what's happeining, straight from the 'ROADSTERS' mouth, which is far, far better.

I just love the way he comes on stage...gives me goose bumps! I can only imagine how the audience felt! I understand how people can get so emotional. When I saw Yusuf, as soon as he walked on stage my eyes welled up. I had waited so long, and there he was in the flesh...not 10 feet away from me! My sister kept telling me "Don't you cry, don't you cry..."! But what do you do?? It was a happy cry, so that made it okay. Lot's of emotions wrapped up in those tears, it was great! I am thrilled with how Australia is just "eatin' him up"! I know it makes everyone involved so proud! And you know the shows keep getting better and better the more often they do them. Thanks for the videos, I'll take whatever I can get! Can't wait to hear about Melbourne and to hopefully see some pics (or videos) from the Father and Son segment! ;D Rock on Yusuf and Company!

It's interesting - I like numbers; actually I love numbers. I minored in Math in college and even have a favorite number - 19, but numerology never interested me much. That is probably explained by my deep attachment to logic, sometimes too deep for my own good. Having said all that, I think it is interesting how the numbers play out. Since we are talking about numbers, perhaps this is time for us to ask for some confirmation (maybe from our friend Majid?) that the last time Yusuf performed in Australia was indeed 1972. Keep thinking Vicki - I like where it goes.

Thanks for the article! I guess the lady is no longer around...too bad, she would have been very pleased to see how Yusuf turned out! PS Numbers just confuse me. Never was good at Math...don't care, didn't need it. ;D Now what's the number for 9-1-1? Can't wait for feedback on latest concert. Head...about....to.... EXPLODE!!

Thank you for this terrific article, Wambaugh. It's already June 16 in Melbourne. Wow! Some of us Majicatters have wondered if Yusuf is a Sufi, and this quote makes me wonder even more: 'Another interesting thing was a book with a velvet cover that was given to me, a book of Rumi's poems. That was my first introduction to Sufism and that was quite important.' Peace, ~Sun~

Many thanks to everyone who contribute articles, video links, etc.
I have been wondering if Yusuf will reconnect with Bruce and Sue Lynch once in New Zealand.....

Hello everyone! And how wonderful for the lucky ones attending these concerts! I wish I was one, but I can't go - as usual my poor health holds me down and not much coin doesn't help either! I'm so sorry for you Margi! I truly, deeply feel for you. Unlike me, you could have gone, but tickets sold out too fast. Also, I don't know if you had the same experience as me, but being a member of Yusuf's 'The Redroom' via his site, didn't help me at all. I heard about it from Jane and she expected that I would have already heard. By the time I DID get news from Yusuf's site (which was meant to give members the 'heads up' in advance for tickets), by the time of receiving my newletter, it was no longer an advantage anyway. And like me, the distance for you from Western Australia interstate and me from Tassie interstate - it's a long long way. Also, as far as Tasmania goes, as a state, we don't usually get a mention. Most of the bigger artists by-pass us anyway Well, I still wouldn't have been able to go (I don't think), so for me, it doesn't matter, but many Cat Stevens fans who may very well have loved to have gone to see him, may not have even known he was even IN Australia. There's been NO coverage of him being IN Australia in the first place!! So Margi, we must hope for a DVD/Blu-Ray release. I see no question over it being a tremendous seller - at least for Mainland Australia & of course all other fans around the world, especially MAJICATTERS! Jane! If you read this, I hope you got my reply to your email??? And Vicki, your comments on the Teaser St thread have been so perfectly written. I'm sure if I were Alun or Alan, I would have been moved by your words quite deeply. As for Cat Stevens last tour of Australia, I have for as long as I can remember thought he toured in 1972 AND 1974, so I checked here on majicat to be sure and sure enough you'll see that he did indeed tour here twice - the 2nd being the Bamboozle Tour. You can check it out here: www.majicat.com/programs/Cat%20Tours.htmPaulo, marshallg, s271 and ALL concert goers from the majicat family - my warmest wishes to you all for ALL to go right on the night. Take care. Love to all, Peace fo all, from Jon

Jon! There is always an audible gasp from me when I see you have been here! (Yes, dear one, I did get your email and I owe you one back...) We have all been very surprised to see so little press on this tour, and to hear you say that there has been almost nothing is shocking. I thought maybe we just weren't seeing it, but jeez, you live there and are seeing nothing. What the heck??? I can only hope - along with you - that there is some kind of DVD that comes out of Yusuf's performances over this past year or so. Jon - did you see the Island 50 show on TV? If not I can hook you up Jon, hopefully you are seeing the few videos posted on YouTube from this tour. He sounds as good as ever and is hitting notes he struggled a bit with last year. Almost makes me cry when I listen - ok, sometimes I do cry... it's as though each time I hear him or read about him it's like realizing for the first time that he is back. If I never stop appreciating that, that is just fine with me! Glad to see you pop in to see us, Jon. Love and peace to you as well, my friend! Jane

So nice to follow my two favourite J's, JANE and JON. ;D I know what you mean Jane. Seeing that name 'jonathanjzero' pop up just makes your day. Jon, even though we understand the reasons for your abscense, know you are greatly missed, and 'jonathanjzero' has a very special place here at Majicat. About the dates of CATs first concert tour in Australia, Majid already has confirmed it was 1972, plus my diary doesn't tell NO lies. ;D About there being no coverage by the media of Yusuf Downunder, I'm scratching my head too Who cares, his concerts were a sellout, and Yusuf and his Roadsters are sounding better than ever ;D
