Thank you, Vicki. It sounds like "Cat Stevens in Concert" rather than "Yusuf in Concert." I love the old songs, so that's fine - and it's what most people want to hear. I'm sure it'll be very successful.

Paulo, I wish you all the best in getting good tickets and getting your album signed. If you can meet Yusuf, I'm sure he'll be very happy to sign it for you. It's good to check for competitions or drawings - I won a copy of "An Other Cup" in an online drawing. No matter what, the tickets are worth every penny. It'll be an unforgettable experience. Your dad sounds very special and it's clear that he loves you very much. What a blessing. I wonder if he's going with you to see Yusuf in concert? It seems fitting, though I'm sure he'd understand if you wanted to go with your friends. All the best, ~Sun~

Thanks, yeah Dad is very special to me- in fact I was only reunited with him and my siblings and grand parents on his side, early last year after a 13 or so year absence (we were separated when I was 5 or so years old) So as you can imagine I've been building a truly wonderful and close relationship with him over the last year. The song 'Father' from Back to Earth holds so much significance for me now, as does Father and Son. He's not a huge fan of Cat, he's a KISS fan mostly (even naming me Paul Stanley! lol) but he loves Cat's music (kinda an odd combination!) it was actually because of him that I first was interested in Cat. I remember being a small child, probably four or so, and whenever the song '(Remember the Days of) the Old School Yard' would come on the radio etc we'd both sing it together, like it was our song. So years later, I decided to look up the song, and thus discovered the whole discography and have been hooked ever since. I'd really love him to come with me, but I think he'd rather do everything he can to help me get there instead given how much the tickets are etc. Yes it would be awesome to meet him, so I'm just going to keep my eyes and ears open for any opportunities that might come up.

BTW. to see a Cat Stevens concert in 1974, the cost of one ticket was around $6.50 !!!! That's what happens when you perform once in a Blue Moon. ;D I like this, too. Thank you for the exchange rates , Glaucus and Helen. Putting your numbers together, and rounding, I get this: Presale Diamond: $270 (Au) ~ $250 (US) ~ 187 Euros ~ £163
Presale Silver: $160 (Au) ~ $148 (US) ~ 111 Euros ~ £96
Regular Diamond: $199 (Au) ~ $184 (US) ~ 138 Euros ~ £120
Regular Gold: $150 (Au) ~ $139 (US) ~ 104 Euros ~ £90
Regular Silver: $119 (Au) ~ $110 (US) ~ 82 Euros ~ £72
Quite a range - and you do pay for pre-sale, but it's probably worth it if you can manage it - there's a lot to be said for good seats. Best of luck to all who are trying to get tickets. ~Sun~

The flight will be a very long one. I know from Greece the flight is around 20- 22 hours, depending on on the airplane company, with one stop over. If he leaves from Dubai, it will be a few hours shorter. On his return to perform in Scotland from Australia, it should be more than 20 hours. If he is lucky and leaves Australia on the 11th, he will have a day to recover from jet lag. Thank you, Vicki. This is a really long, long flight time. I wonder what Yoriyos will do - if he can postpone his gig in Scotland, it'd be so much easier. I'm sure he'll work it out...

Here's a good article The Return Of The Roadsinger out of New Zealand. Some interesting quotes: For a great many years it seemed unlikely that the artist we knew as Cat Stevens would return to the stage and that his timeless songs would reach us in anything other than tribute shows.... "[It's] After all these years, that I've come to fully understand and appreciate what everyone has been asking of me. It's as if I've come full circle; ... as T. S. Eliot once said, 'We shall not cease our exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.'"
As years went by and Yusuf Islam became so submerged in education, lecturing and charity activities of his Muslim faith from his North London base only the most optimistic fans * believed that they would see him on stage again performing the songs that had become such a part of their lives.
But the Roadsinger has, once again, become just that, and Australia is to be one of his first ports of call, in intimate arena mode - [full circle] for Paul Dainty, who brought him to Australia those three dozen years ago. Some circles are destined to be completed. [And yet, for] one of music's most extraordinary artists, the journey continues.
* That's us majicatters!! Peace, ~Sun~

Paulo, I have been reading your posts, and I am so very happy for you for many reasons. About a year ago it all seemed an impossible dream to come true, now it's actually about to happen. I can just imagine the excitment you must be feeling knowing in less than two months, you will be one of the many fortunate people in the audience having the pleasure of hearing Yusuf in concert. As you have read about his concerts in the UK last year, I don't think we have to tell you what an amazing experience it's going to be. I'm also very happy you have been reunited with your father and family. I'm sure the future holds many new memorable moments. I wish you only good and happy times ahead. :)Even if your father won't be able to go to the concert with you, don't worry, because you won't feel the least bit alone. You and the the whole arena will become one, as Yusuf takes you on his one way, no return ticket, Blue Moon journey. ;D Don't forget to write. ;D Looking forward to your posts.....Vicki P.S As you are in the process of buyinfg tickets, I noticed again in the article I sent in my last post, Paul Dainty says, that he has programmed two concert dates for Sydney and Melbourne because the feedback was so great. There seems to be some mix up. Do you know if this is true?

Thank you very much- I appreciate the incredible support on this board. I think that there's no doubt that you are amongst the friendliest people I have ever interacted with. We're all part of one big family!
When I go to the concert I'll be: "Sitting on my own, not by myself" because "everybody's here with me."
I'm so excited that "I can't keep it in!"
According to all the ticket websites etc, they all say that there will be two shows in Sydney... so I'd imagine that's the case.
However, there hasn't been an official confirmation from CS.com yet so... I'm not really sure.

And yes I'll enveavour to take plenty of photos, video and write something on my experience! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Paulo! Oh, and if you meet Yusuf, after he signs your album, please say hello from everyone at majicat.com. I'll never forget the time after a show when he met some majicatters who told him "hello from Vivian," and he mentioned that Vivian was his fan with the most posts over at cs.com. If I recall correctly, he also named some other majicatters' names. Does anyone remember this? It was quite a thrill...

If I get the incredible opportunity to speak to the great man I'll make sure I mention the Majicat family.
Wow, do you think that he actually reads our discussions on here?
I always like to think he'd drop in every now and again and see what we're talking about, I know Yoriyos does... perhaps he tells him what we're up to lol

I don't know that he has time to read too much, but I believe I read somewhere that he pops in from time to time to see what we are talking about. Can anyone who is planning to go to these June shows tell us anything about the venues - how big they are, etc?

Hi Jane, I too was interested to know what type of venues Yusuf will be performing in. I checked each one on Google Earth, in all the states Yusuf will be performing, and had a very good birdseye view. Then I searched the web. Melbournes seems very big, as do the rest of the venues. Yusuf as Cat back in the 70's, had no problem filling such venues, and he probably won't have any problem doing the same in June. I'm going to check Youtube to see if they have a video of Lady Gaga performing at the Rod Laver Arena. Might get a glimpse, and have a feel of the arena inside with a stage. ;D Did you check out the great poster for the tour. It says YUSUF AUSTRALIAN TOUR, SOUNDING LOUDER!!!! That's one poster I would just love having one of those posters hanging on my wall. ;D

I am really happy to see the articles from New Zealand finally coming out. How thrilled they have to be,noting that Yusuf or Cat has never performed there before. So it will be a first for them!
Dusty Day will you be able to attend either of the concerts in N.Z?

If he does not tour the U.S. it will go down as my biggest regret in life. Never having seen a live performance from my favorite artist. I pray, pray, pray he blesses us with an appearance. I was too young when he was Cat - my sisters went to his concert and left me home. I am still mad at them
