When I went to see Yusuf at the Birmingham concert. My seat was in the 3rd row, I then saw the front row with a few empty seats. ;D So I went and sat there. Obviously some one did not sell them and lost money. ;D ;D Their loss, My gain.

Hello All, I'm an old timer. The Australian tour was advertised before the New Zealand one so I booked for the Sydney concert on the Monday. Then.... the New Zealand one was advertised so I booked for that one too. (I live in NZ) I was so glad it was that way because if the NZ tour was advertised first, there would have been no way that my hubbie would have considered going to the Sydney one as well. ;D I'M GOING TWICE....Yippee. Can't wait. So anyone here going to the Sydney Concert on Monday 21st June or the Auckland NZ concert on 29th June? I'm so excited I feel sick. Linda

Sun, your string of happy koalas are just adorable. I think many Aussie fans are feeling very happy too, waiting to see Yusuf in concert next month. ;D I don't know if I should have, or if anyone will take notice, but I emailed Paul Dainty's site, dce. I saw there was a contact space, so I asked them, begged them to consider an extra concert in Perth, and Brisbane, for all the desperate fans that missed out on a ticket. Well I don't think I did wrong, the worst they could do is to ignore my plea.

Well I don't think I did wrong, the worst they could do is to ignore my plea. So glad you liked those koalas, Vicki. And this was a brilliant idea. I checked out Paul Dainty's website. Did you join to be able to send the message? The contact has a required field, "Contact No," and I don't know where to get the number. It would be nice if enough fans could contact him to make a difference - he may ignore one plea, but not thousands. Other than majicat, I'm not sure how to get the word out. Maybe Yusuf's Facebook page? I don't have a Facebook account, so I'm not sure...

I clicked on contact, you write your name, email adress, contact number, and there is a space to write. In the space where it says 'contact number', I thought they meant a phone number, and that's what I wrote. Mistake? you see I have a very simple mind. ;D They did reply my post has been sent, but if it was recieved I must check my email adress yet. Here is the link. Hope this helps. www.dcegroup.com/index/mainBTW, (Slowly learning the short cut web language ;D) Yes I did see this video, so good to hear an Aussie accent again.

I'm so excited I feel sick. Well, please don't feel sick, Linda! Why? Because it's such a pleasure (you've been greatly missed!) to see you back on these boards again, and I'd hate it if any illness (even the 'exciting' kind) prevented you from visiting us, and posting, much more often! -Bud

Hope this helps. Thank you for explaining, Vicki. I feel very silly, but I drew a blank when they asked for "contact number." Of course, you're absolutely right - it means "phone number." Other than being quite dim-witted at times, my only excuse is that here in the US, I think we usually say "telephone number" rather than "contact number." Anyway, thanks again for the great suggestion and for the explanation. Peace, ~Sun~

Sun, "Dim wittted", "silly", you?, definetly not!!!!!!! OMG, don't think you are the only one whose brain short circuits every now and then. Really it was just a lucky guess. I prefer to think of these mind lapses I have, that seem to occur quite often lately, are due to all the excitment of the upcoming Yusuf tour, even if I'm not going. ;D Oh, I forgot to tell you how much I love these, cute, adorable koals that keep popping up.

I wonder whether there will be a Yusuf/Yoriyos collaboration on that- just seems to cry out for that with Fathers and Sons being honoured in the concerts? Would be a lovely idea! I know Yoriyos once said he and his Dad get on too well for them to sing the song together- but I have never seen that song as a portrayal of irreconcilable positions, just two sides of the same coin...

Peritura, the same thought crossed my mind too when I read today the announcement above. Many of us who attended the SBE concert last May dreamed that Yusuf and Yoriyos would join and sing 'Father and Son', but I guess the time was not right. Maybe Australian, and NZ audience will be previlidged to witness this. What an incredible climax that will be to end a concert. I wonder if they have ever hung out together in the privacy of their home and performed this song. If they haven't, I think there should be a first time, and maybe this time has come. Well we shall have to wait and see, not long now!!!

Yes, both have just quite an other music stil I think if you listen to his 'Bury my heart at Wounded Knee' you will find they are not so far apart, he covered 'The End' on that too!

Yes, both have just quite an other music stil Hurt, Yoriyos has a very different style in music, but his older style was not that different from his fathers, and I think they would compliment each other musically. Anway whatever we might think or say, if they don't feel the time is right or comfortable singing together we just have to accept that. Buuut....there have been many great artists, with very different music backgrounds, that have performed together, and have wonderfully surprised us all. For example Pavarotti and Stevie Wonder. Peritura, I think our minds are on the same wave length at this moment. ;D

I have this feeling, and it is a strong feeling, that the time is right for "Father and Son" to be sung by Yusuf and Yoriyos. I have also never interpreted this song as one where father and son "hate" each other, or as peritura said "irreconcilable differences" are present. I have always felt that the song deals with the natural views and wishes of two generations. Let's wait and see.

I agree windofmysoul. The song seems more about a generation gap to me too.
I honestly do not see anything negative with father and son singing this song together. Obviously if Yoriyos chooses not to, that is is business, but you never know. People change their minds - and how awesome would it be for Yoriyos to experience being on stage singing with his legendary Dad.
I do not care what song they sing - it would just be so touching to witness them singing together. I wonder if any of his daughters have nice singing voices. I guess they would never go on stage though...
