TWow, now this is an old post Milan!! It was a hard question. I definately would still stick to my original answer. Though I think any of Mona Bone Jakon, Tillerman or Teaser would be very good intro LP's for a new fan. They all are such great albums. BTW.. They played Peace Train yesterday on the radio during the call in show I listen to. They were doing a call in for songs with peace themes, because of the cease fire in Lebonon and they rated them. Peace Train came in as the #2 peace call in song.

Cece, I was torn between Mona Bone and Tillerman. As they are my two favorite LP's. I went with Tillerman, because it was the first LP of Cats I ever heard and it just drew me in like a valcum. MBJ has the very same type of effect on me. So I guess it would be a hard decision and goes back to what is our individual favorite LP.

Lets try a small poll. If you had the job of convincing a friend who is not a cat fan into trying Cat Stevens Music. Which CD would you give him to listen to first. This survey does not include any Best Of CD's, only original LP's. I only had room for 8 answers, so I had to elliminate New Masters and Back to Earth. Also, you IP is logged so you can only vote once.

I've been censored!! I only said Joe Cocker! George, I fixed that censor. You can now say Joe Cocker without the censor going into effect.

I love the arm band Shirley , Always have and always will. The one item which is NOT clothing, but which I have always loved and would like to see in the R&R Hall of Fame disply would be Cats - Brown Cat Stevens engraved leather guitar strap. I wonder what ever happened to it.

I just posted what was asked for. I don't think I was ever disrespectful. the respect was just a general statement, not aimed at anyone. The post I was referring to, I saw last night. But I see that it is gone now. which is good.

It's hard to imagine why anyone would give Foreigner a bad review. To me it is Cats masterpiece.

Vivian there are other singers who sing with emotion as well.
Van Morrison and Loreena McKennit to name just two. I didn't mean to say Cat was the only emotional singer, just that the reason some of his song have such strong sentiment to me, was because of the way he places his heart into them.
To hear Van sing 'Wonderful Remark' 'Madam George' or 'Have I Told You Lately' or Lorenna sing 'The Lady of Shalott' ' The Dark Night of the Soul' or 'Bonny Portmore' Also brings tears to my eyes.

One of the reasons I love Cat music so much is the emotions he throws into his music. You can almost hear and feel his pain or love he is trying to convey in a song.
What do you think is his most emotional song? This is not to mean just Love songs. But ratherm, which songs do you think he displays his special talent for different emotions the best.
I would rank:
Father Just Another Night Novims Nightmare Ruins Father and Son
I could go on and On,.. which are your favorite emotional songs?

Cat in neck and neck with Iggy Pop for a very distant second place. Hmmmmm So make sure to vote on this. I'm placing a sticky on this thread for a while, to keep it up at the top of the posts and within everyones view.

Alicia, may I second Celticats warm welcome to you. You can always talk about Cat and/or his music here.
Cat attributes, I don't know why, but I always like looking at his hands.... strange I know. That and I like the scar on his forehead that lies between two of his curls.
As for music, I don't think there is another musician alive that seems to put his whole heart and soul into his song, as Cat does. You can actually feel his pain in songs such as "How Many Times"

Hey George,
I never heard of the I love my Dog in German, but I have heard that Cat once sang Lady D' Arbanville in French on a French radio station.
If these rumors of a German I Love My Dog and a French Lady D rumors are true, wouldn't they be nice to hear.

Vivian you have to place your codes with in each other for them to work.Place your smilie within your color code and that code with in your marquee code. But also make sure all your brackets stay. If one bracket disappears, your code doesn't work properly.

First, I wish to say welcome to Play_and_Play, it's nice to see you here . As for favorite memorbilia, I have been trying to figure out what is my fave. Hmmmm I have to say the Teaser book along with P&P. There are a few different reasons, one is because I love the drawings in it. And I have always been intriqued by Cats drawings. Though, I do think the Tillerman LP drawing is my favorite drawing of Cats with the Mathew & Son Drawing a close second. My other favorite memorabilia would be my really old Poster of Cat with all its creases and tears to show it's age. A poster sold by the Scholastic Book fair at my high school a life time ago. And the one with the most sentamental value to me, would be my Catch Bull at four LP. My father bought this LP and the original Jesus Christ Superstar LP for me when I was laid up in bed due to an operation at the time. So it really has special value to me, since my father died only a few years later.

I didn't start the poll..... but even if I had that would have made it toooo easy... we need to show our 1st choice so "you know who" can see what we are the most interested in.

You knew I had to vote on this one, and this has to be the hardest poll so far. How could we go wrong with any of these options eventually happening. Even if the demo's were horrible in Yusufs eyes, I'm sure I would love them.

Aisha, I think this happens when either your wording is to long.... maybe Shorten it to MBJ or just Tillerman. Another thing I notice, is there is a long spacing before the beginning of your sentence. So there must have been a clitch in it. You may need to re-post the poll.
